Paint chip

Well, it finally happened - I got my first major paint chip near the front of the hood. It went right down to the bare metal.

I'm not sure if it was on this forum, but I remember reading something about a clear, protective film (from 3M?) that can be applied to the front of the car to prevent paint chips.

Anyone have any experience with this? Any ideas where I could get the stuff? I know there are solid plastic deflectors that can be installed, but I think they just ruin the look of the car.

Yes - the 3M Clear Bra - it should be available in your area. Check with premium body/paint shops.

I got 3M and got a huge dent just beyond it. estimate was 1,381 to fix it... (reapplying clear coat and whole coat of paint).. I asked them just to touch it up for now
