Need advice on next power upgrades: '11 N55 MT w/ FBO

I lurked here long before I joined last year and I haven't made many posts. This is my first BMW, I grew up on Audis and older VWs (2 VRT Corrados). I have come to find the information in the community isn't as centralized (like the vwvortex) and the tuning isn't as simple.

I picked up a 2011 N55 MT (now has 82k) in 2015 and did the usual power adding bolt ons.

BMS intake
BMS JB4 w/ bluetooth
BMS charge pipe
VRSF intercooler
Wagner downpipe
Berk mid pipes & muffler

I have a P3 vent gauge I uninstalled after I got the JB4 and a BMS meth kit BNIB. I live in NH & the best I can get is 93 octane.

I would like a bit more power and smoother delivery before I upgrade the turbo. I have been following the Wedge & MHD threads and believe this might be the correct path.

Here is what I am looking for and questions I need answered.

I want to hit as close as I can to 400whp on 93 before I swap the turbo. With meth and MHD/Wedge is this possible?

Is there a way to ingrate my current BNIB BMS meth kit with MHD or should I sell the kit and purchase a non JB4 controlled unit?

Is there any reason to keep my JB4 installed? Any real advantage?

If I remove the JB4 and only use a MHD/Wedge tune can I reinstall my P3 gauge with full functionality?

With a turbo upgrade what other tune or fuel requirements will I need to consider? Pump? Injectors? other?

Thank you in advance for your input.

400+whp is possible on MHD/Meth...but you would need to contact Wedge personally so he can create your tune. Currently, the only OTS maps are Stage 1, 2, 2+, and e40.

I believe the BMS Meth kit only works with the JB4. Have you considered doing the JB4+backend flash? The most powerful setups are doing that, it's the best of both worlds and so far the MHD flashes are only for stock turbo cars. If switching to MHD, I recommend the aquamist HFS-4 meth kit..it's reliable and has a great controller. Snowperformance also makes a great unit.

If going straight MHD, the JB4 needs to be removed completely (according to MHD)

The P3 should be able to install and read the data from the car just like it would in any other situation. MHD tunes alter certain tables in the DME but that wouldn't make the OBD read any differently.

Fueling all depends on how much power you want to push. The more power, the higher the boost, the more dialed in the timing has to be which means more fueling..most use meth or port injection to get the necessary fueling needed. Whichever way you go with (staying with JB4 or switching to MHD) talk to the guys that make each tune. Support from both companies is amazing.

Also, noticed you live in Concord. My GF lives in Loudon, so I'm up there frequently. If you see a blue 135i with black rims, it's most likely me happy tuning!

The JB4 has been on all the top powered N54's, but that has primarily been due to the fact that its the only way to control external wastegates on a single turbo at a realistic price. That is changing now with the BoostBox which allows flash only EWG control. So now the JB4 is mostly just a utility box and a tuner which gives certain features like on the fly map switching etc. If you don't need those extras, then MHD would be fine by itself. Some people like the features however, and if you already have a JB4 you may as well keep it.

400+ isnt possible with meth, mhd, and higher octane on a stock turbo, MHD has just come out and before that 380~ was the highest anyone has ever gotten on a stock turbo N55
