Worst weekend of my life new bumper or not poll

Okay so here's the run down on the worst weekend of my life. Friday afternoon I'm heading up to UCSB for the night. Leave at 1:30 pm. 1:40 have to turn around because I find out we gotta pick up my buddy's laptop at his house and take it to him. So we turn around go to the front door. Nobody answers. We call him and he tells us the code to get in. We enter it and then the stepmom flips a bitch on us and we're like sorry sorry he's on the phone he let us in.

So we're back on the road again. Get to the 405. Go about 3 miles in 30 minutes. Buddy whose with me family calls. He parked his truck in the driveway and blocked all their cars and his only set of keys is in his pocket. Turn around go back give them the keys. Take a quick pit stop at my house. Okay. 3:15, refreshed, let's do this. Check the traffic, decide to take the 1 instead. The trip starts to get better now. Traffic on the 1 isn't too bad especially after sunset. And from the McClure tunnel all the way to Kanan Dume we were playing cat and mouse with this really cute girl in an B6 A4. She was hot and it was black with tinted windows and tinted taillights and sidemarkers, that was even hotter imho.

So we get up there have a pretty good night. But I had shit to do at home yesterday so i started sobering up and was pretty sober and pulled out my iPhone to set the alarm and check my emails. I remember it was 1:54 exactly, it had plenty of battery and so I set the alarm. Put the iPhone on the coffee table next to the couch I am sleeping on and fall asleep. Wake up five hours later without the alarm and im like okay where the f**k is my iphone. Thing is just gone. I call it. Goes straight to vmail. Anyone that has an iphone knows that its always on and never goes straight to vmail unless it's been physically turned off by holding the button and sliding to power off or unless the sim has basically been removed. So, after an hour I'm like whatever it's gone, maybe it will turn up.

So we leave. Cruising back down the 1, things are great. 9:45, 100 yards northwest of the McClure tunnel get a 62 in a 45 speeding ticket by a douche who pulled right out from behind someone's car in their driveway on his motorbike. I'm just like oh well, I was too upset about the iPhone to argue with him and i thought PCH was a 55, oh well I haven't had a ticket in 2+ years so I can do traffic school.

Get home, go for a run to relieve the stressful events of the day. Get in the car, which is parked on a very slight incline, maybe a 1-2% grade and between two of the neighbors cars. Put in the key push the button, not realizing it hadn't started, put it in reverse look back to back up and donk, rolls right into the neighbors Acura MDX. at this point I'm sitting in my car going FML. Get out and realize okay it's not really that bad at all. Her car has a tiny paint chip.

What's annoying is that she would never even notice if I didn't tell her. But I know if I were in that situation with my car I'd want the person to tell me and she's the neighbor so I was like gotta tell her. She was pretty cool with it, said if I can touch it up and it looks okay she'll be fine with it. If not then I'll try to give her like $200 and say if you don't want to get it fixed how bout just taking this.

Anyway, now for the poll. My car has what I call a broken nose. the piece in between the kidneys is slightly dented and there are two little dents/rises in the bumper part. Basically none of my expensive German paint came off, unlike the Acura and my hood is fine, thank god. So I look on United BMW's site and a new Mtech bumper is $296 after the coupon code plus paint and shipping. Not bad, can likely install install that myself, but here's my question to you all- should I?

Oh yea. Last night, before drinking this all off, I bought a megamillions lottery ticket, haha!

Here are the pics: (and sorry if they are big)

Hard to tell by the pics, but looks like $25 touch-up paint is the best fix.

the paint only came off in a tiny, tiny section, it's the broken nose like indentation that gets to me, but yea it's hardly visible, especially in the pics

I wish I had your life, if that's the worst weekend of your entire life. Some inconveniences, that's all.

If that tiny spot bothers you, get it fixed. If you can live with it, do so. I'd say that's your decision, not ours.

if this was the worst weekend of your life, you are either:

a) 16 years old
b) pampered
c) Both a & b
d) exaggerating

I'm guessing d. I hope it's d.

I don't see anything wrong with it, even with the pics. It's just a freggin car man.

Talk to people in the military in basic training, or better yet in iraq about the worst weekend of their lives.

I'd trade your worst weekend for some of my best. Just take a deep breath and enjoy being an Xmas tree on the couch. Some people have been in major accidents and wrecked their cars. Even if that was the worst weekend in your life at the end of the day no one was hurt (except an innocent Acura) and you still have a 1.

^ haha I know, so true. and I'm breathing way easier after I looked up the lease return guidelines on the BMW FS website, dings, dents, dimples, scratches less than two inches are basically okay, and it basically looks like a shopping cart bump so it should be fine there, just annoying

I already have a little chip on the bumper from a rock, hardly noticeable, but I can see it....Thought about repairing in and know I will get more as time goes by, I can touch it up, and color sand, but I will still know it is there. Best is a new painted bumper, but sometimes as soon as you do, some moron comes out of no where and...well, you know. I will just leave it. After all, it is only a car. Heck, my skin looks a lot worse than my bumper and I can still look in the mirror without fainting.

Good point! Someone scraped the side of my rear bumper when they pulled out of the parking spot beside me. Even took the courtesy of leaving a fake note with a fake e-mail and phone number so no casual passerby would even think of calling parking lot security. I paid to have the whole rear bumper repainted. Fast forward a few years and someone scrapes the same spot with a shopping cart in a grocery store parking lot! If its something really small you'd be even angrier if you spent a ton of money and someone backed into you Will the touch up paint do it?
