New 1M owner

Hey all, just completed the purchase of this 1M - should be delivered next week. I swore that my 135is was all the car I'd ever need, but when I saw this come available I just had to pull the trigger. No nav, manual seats.

Looking forward to experiencing it, and comparing to my Dinan Stage 3 135is.

Congratulations!!! That is a great picture as well.

Tell us more about the car -- bone stock?

Please post up your impressions when you are able.

(BTW I have looked at your 135is ad several times and have been tempted more than a few times to do something irrational and throw out an offer...)

Thanks. It is stock afaik, though the PPI video seemed to reveal a coilover setup of some kind. I won't know much until the car is delivered.

I'll need to take down my 135 ad here since I'm prepping the car to go up on carsandbids. Detailed this week. Photoshoot next week. Weather not cooperating lately.

Not 100% sure, but I'm considering Dinan Stage 3 and a carbon front lip.

Ha - you just reminded me to check. I haven't had time since purchase. But wheels are stock staggered, so 245 front and 265 rear. I'm having the wheels replaced with OEM at the dealer next week. And new OEM exhaust tips. Trying to keep things pretty stock.

Congrats! Did you post up pics anywhere?

So I've had the car for 1k miles, so fully "assimilated". So far it's a dream. Really digging the single-hump dash and manual seats, and haven't seen that spec anywhere since purchase. I have determined that the car has a KW coilover setup which IMO is set at a perfect height. I don't know which variant, but the original rear shocks tell me it's probably V1.

After 1k miles I determined that the following needed to be done:
  1. replace wheels (bent, cracked)
  2. replace exhaust tips (permanently blackened)
  3. tighten handbrake
  4. replace battery
  5. intake valve blast

Had the first four completed at the dealer today. All OEM original parts. I'm scheduling the walnut blast. I am trying to keep this as stock as I can, but at some point in the future I may upgrade the suspension and do a Dinan Stage 3 performance upgrade.

Crappy garage photos of the new bits:

Nice!!!

You had to replace all 4 rims? That’s not cheap!

Thanks!

Wheels were $3,100 including labor. I got a quote of $1500 to refinish them, but I've been that route before and don't trust wheel "repairs". The original wheels that were on there had been refinished at some point and looked really bad up close.

Exhaust tips were $500 and had to be shipped from Germany, so took a while.

Both are great. However, very different!

I’m not sure comparing them does either any justice. They are nearly a decade apart and both unique in their own way.
