Better for what? What's the M6 corner speeds at places like VIR compared to C8? I'd bet the C8 is higher...at higher speeds.

When I said better, I meant faster. I have been talking about straight line speed, I'm not sure what you are talking about. You seem to be having a difficult time realizing that the C8 isn't faster than a M6 from 60 to 130. Your own data showed that. I have no problem saying the Vette handles and corners much better and is faster at lower speeds. I have no problem saying the ZR1 is a hoss and is faster than a M6 at driving speeds on the highway. And since I do have experience in the matter, I have no problem saying that my M6 is faster than a C8 at higher speeds.

The fact everyone keeps pinning challenges of big hp cars that’s a lot more expensive than the stingray is giving all the credit to the car lol.

And that’s just the entry level corvette people are targeting. Wait until the z06 and the zr1 come out. Everyone will really be shitting their pants.

That photo looks SICK. However, I recently saw one in the metal, the proportions seem a bit off and dare I say looked a bit 'kit-carish'. Yes, this car is still a great performer no doubt, I'm just not sold on its looks. JMHO.

good point, it always cracks me up when someone has to bench race their modded Euro against stock Corvette. Hell, I've got a '67 Corvette that I'd gladly put up against ANY stock '67 BMW and roll his you know what !!

perhaps the young lad should take his little M6 and see how well he does in a 'roll race' against this C2 !!

OP, really good article BTW.
Ah, you didn't need to say that, you weren't out of line. Kick 6 is a good dude too but went total 'mad scientist' there. I mean, I can say that my Chevette can blow the doors off of this new C8 and you'd (rightfully) say that is totally wrong showing various specs/times, but then I come back and say AHA! but I have a hypersonic rocket attached in the back so there YOU WRONG!!! Just totally bizarre but fun reading haha.

I've had the pleasure of instructing two students in Z51 C8's and they are fantastic cars right out of the box. The first student was last year at Daytona and the second was this past weekend at Sebring.

The cars never seem to get unsettled even with entry level students doing something they shouldn't. The brakes work very well with little to no drama hauling the car down from speed repeatedly. Sebring is tough on brakes.

The Z06 should be unreal and I can't wait to hear one in person.
