CSL vs. Neez QD7
I may get flamed for this but what is the difference between these two types of wheels? It looks like the QC7's look more concaved is this true? I plan on running staggered for the 1ner and want to go with 19's if they fit if not 18's. I know the CSL reps weigh a hair under 25 lb, what do the QD7's weigh? I love he Neez wheels but I also heard they cost and arm and a leg too.

FWIW...
The CSL reps weigh closer to 27 (measured) the vendors are a little sketchy re weight spec.

Neez QD7 wheels: 19x8.5 +15 , 19x9.5 +25. Weight is 20.2 lbs in front and 21.5 lbs in rear. Price is !!!! But they are gorgeous....
Replica CSL wheels are heavier, cheaper, and may be problematic to have in a long run... |

Quality of the finish, softer and heavier.... So in the long run you might have wheels that are chipping, bent and things like that... I am not saying that it will happen, but chances are high, especially with some many people complaining about replicas... But they are cheap.

*** whoops - i missed the "actual" part of your post - sorry! Plus, wouldn't genuine CSL rims have completely wrong offsets for the 1-er?***
look to be about $750 a set for our 18" fitment. Great looking, decent price, but 24# a rim is heavy in my book (miata/mini world). I LOVE the look, I don't know if i can deal with that weight. we will see..... |

Well this is all going to depend on how heavy the stock setup will be. Stock setup maybe very heavy like a 335 with Sport package (Style 189). Also say on avg. 20 lb per wheel for Neez QD7 or Morr VS7 so your looking at 80 lb + Rubber but you can get a much cheaper price with the CSL Rep's at roughly 25 lb heavier total. Does it really make sense to spend 1-2 grand more to save a total of roughly 25 lb? Also VMR is coming out with a new forged line of wheels too. http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=484865 |

losing a bit of weight in the cabin is nowhere near the same as having similar weight savings in the wheels/tires/brakediscs.

However if i drop >4k on wheels alone, they may as well lock me up because my reservations toward hitting a cyclist would go by the wayside if it meant dodging a rock in the road.. (i need .. i know) |

Now if you wanna buy some ZCP's (the US version of CSL wheels, though slightly different spec wise) Tischer BMW is the ticket. I dunno if 4 fronts would fit the 1 series, but they would look sick for sure. I have ZCP's on my M3. Those are really nice... never seen nor heard of that company before. Some what similar to RAC's... which are like the holy grail in my book (also marketed by Champion under their own name). |
