Hi, it was not the car from Derek. It was a M Coupe from a Swiss dealer in Valencia Orange. As i said....i cant say something about the torque because i had to take care due to the fact that it has had 160km on the "clock" and was not pushing over 4000rpm. First i was a bit afraid ordering a car without a test drive.....but this fesling is totally gone. The suspension is a way to soft for me. My previous Cayman S with Bilstein and my current Audi TTS with KW3 suspension are a way more tight. I need to drive it for a few weeks to decide weather to upgrade it with a KW suspension.

Dunno if it happens to you guys, but every time I see his name: WKSFTLY I always think of Weeks Fly instead of Walk Softly (which I am pretty sure was what he was going for) Sorry for the

By the way, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the car. My only problem with it is it's size. They car looks like a mean mean chihuahua lol. But it does sound nice and I bet it gives you a nice kick in the ass from time to time. Congrats buddy

Haha, that's the same car I've driven today for 30-40 minutes.

Agreed, personally this is the best photo I've seen of a 1M so far.

I know people think BSM hides the detail, but I love the look of it and there's no question of what it is.

I would be excited to see 1) a launch of the 1M from a standstill, taken from the rear view, and 2) an in-car video of startup, take-off, and at least 30 seconds of normal driving (with windows rolled up).

I upgraded to a set of bigger AP Racing brakes that was designed more for racing, and it made a world of difference in braking power and I would now be able to run for many more laps without fade. Lap times come down by 1 second a lap at my home track too as I was able to brake 30m later on the front straight from 220kmh down to 110kmh.

With my personal experience of M3 brakes, I can tell you now that it won't hold up for hard core track or racing application.
Let me be more specific: "daily driver" automobile mate.
From the information that I've read in magazines, some auto cross/race car drivers swear by AP Lockheed 6 pistons calipers. Thus, you hit a homerun with those brakes that you've upgraded

My two cents; I dont like this car because its a 1M or a M model. I like this car because its a one series and i love " the one series".

Derek did they say that there was a mandatory 2000 km service like on the M3 or just drive it easy until then?? Also did you have to wear a helmet at the Ring?

During the "Touristenfahrten" (tourist driving days), the 'Ring is a public road like any other, except that it's (i) a toll road, (ii) a one-way road and (iii) it has no speed limit (except where indicated). Therefore there's no obligation to wear a helmet there during these times. It's something else when the 'Ring is closed, e.g. for a track day event. Then a helmet is normally mandatory.

I've been on the 'Ring last Friday afternoon - when was the original poster there? Would have been great to say hello. EDIT: I think it was Saturday.

Derek, since you are still there, you need to buy yourself a pair of Euro Headlights from BMW. Those Amber reflectors are ruining the fascia
