Figured out - Bluetooth retrofit for e88 - microphone?
Found the right parts in RealOEM, and scored the right steering column cover and mic from eBay for pretty cheap. Let the games begin!
After pouring over the several good threads on retrofitting BT to one of these cars, I think I have it mostly figured out. But one thing I am still unclear on - the microphone for convertibles. My understanding is that it goes in the steering column cover on convertibles, not in the overhead console like a coupe. But where? Is there supposed to be a different cover for cars with BT? RealOEM only seems to show one cover part number. And is the actual mic the same as for a coupe? Based on the info in the threads I ordered one that is a rectangle - but then I found that searching for "Bluetooth Microphone" at ECS under an e88 comes up with a different (and much more expensive) part. Square, with an attached wiring harness. Many thanks to anyone who can set me straight here! I absolutely LOVE this car, but I sure wish the PO hadn't been quite so stingy when she ordered it new! Spent the money for a BMW convertible, did Euro Delivery for it, but the Premium Package and Bluetooth were just too darned much evidently!
