Anyone get "the Ultimate Ownership Experience" DVD yet???
WOW!!
I just got my "BMW-The Ultimate Ownership Experience" package in the mail a few days ago. They send you a DVD and a book in a nice leather binder kind of thing. Anyway, they send this to you after the purchase of a new BMW. Awesome movie!!!!!!!! Here's a little synopsis of the movie: It's divided into several parts, such as Heritage, Performance, Safety, Styling, ect, ect. Anyway, they show how the BMW logo started because BMW started out as a airplane motor company in like 1909 (I forget what year, I guess I should have taken notes ). "The logo is a propellor against the blue bavarian sky" Anyway, it goes on to show how all the models started and evolved into what they are now...but no, they didn't show any new M3s yet (just the old one). But they did show M5 and M6. But it was still pretty cool. Then they take you inside the BMW Motor Tradition - a private museum of BMW's and they shocase all their old models. They went on to show some guy playing an electronic piano hooked up to a BMW frame (if I remember correctly, the metal in the frame acted as the speaker somehow ) so they showed how each BMW is tuned sonically--the 7 series obviously has a fuller, more quiet sound, but the M6 is tuned to sound like a nightmare!!! Speaking of the 7 series, Chris Bangle was there talking with some other guy about how they re-did the 7-er. "You know, the lines just seem to flow..." I thought that was pretty funny, especially because of all the flak he took redesigning it. But they definitely devoted enought time about how they put the new E90 together. Ok, then they showed their state-of-the-art factories and how they test all their cars with wind turbulance, ect. They actually build the car around some kind of holographic image thing for each car, where they can reposition every single component in the interior...steering wheel, dash, gear shifter, ect. It showed the interior designers and how it took them I think like 3 years to get the interior colors right for the car because some colors look different under different lights. So they have a studio for showroom lights, daylight lights, and dawn/dusk lights. They said they wanted to make sure the same colors you chose under showroom lights were the same after you brought it home to show your friends. It was a great DVD and it was kind of consumer propraganda-ish, but I thought it was an excellent view of pretty much everything you'd ever wonder about with BMW. If you recently bought an E90, look forward to getting this in the mail soon. Last edited by deutschmann59; 09-18-2005 at 08:12 PM.. |

I took delivery 5/13/2005. And it took until 9/16/2005 for me to get this. It was copyrighted 2005, so I guess they just finished making it probably late spring or early summer.
I assume everyone gets this, becuase they send even more info (like the book) about the E90. |

You will... I just pulled it out to look it over again. Along with the book and DVD, they also send you two "credit cards" - one for roadside assistance with "date of purchase and VIN", and the other is your Owner's Circle card, with VIN. So if you haven't already, sign up for OC. (But I don't think you need to to get this package.) |

I think we need to create a specific and detailed list of everything that comes with the purchase of an e90.

Ok, I'll start:
1) The car 2) Two car key fobs, and one plastic spare vallet key 3) A bag with various items (don't know what they're all for, maybe owner's manual mentions them): ---a) Personal profile ID of keys (color stickers for each key fob so as not to mix them up) ---b) screws (2 extra long, 2 long, 2 short, 4 extra short, ---c) 4 washers ---d) 6 plastic caps: 2 blue, 2 white, 2 yellow) ---e) a hole-punched label with a german date (order date?) with two other numbers. --------Mine reads like: "XX.XX - XXXXXXX" 4) Leather-bound BMW case containing: ---a) Roadside assistance card with 1 800 number ---b) Owner's manual for vehicle ---c) "Join the ultimate club" BMW Car Club of America brochure ---d) BMW Accident Assistance Guide ---e) Road Atlas / BMW Center Directory ---f) Caring for your vehicle guide (washing/waxing/cleaning) ---g) BMW 3 Series Interactive Driver's Guide ---h) Service and Warranty Information Guide ---i) BMW Safety Tips 5) BMW On-Board Navigation System DVD-CCC Regional digital road map for North America (if you have iDrive) 6) 2006 E90 Car window guide (fuel economy, standard features, price, options) 7) 2 Year subscription to BMW magazine 8) Large 8.5 x 11, 80+ page book 2006 E90 Brochure (through mail) 9) BMW Ultimate Ownership Experience Package (with leather-bound binder) ---a) Collector's Edition Passion for Performance - An Insider's Guide to your BMW DVD ---b) BMW The Ultimate Ownership Experience Spiral Bound Welcome Book ---c) BMW Roadside Assistance Card ---d) Owner's Circle Card ---e) Your owner Profle form (or fill out on the Internet) _________ Sorry, I couldn't get the bullets to work right That should be everything....everything I got anyway. I didn't get Satellite radio or comfort access so I may be missing a few items, and this list is everything I got here in the US. I don't know if it applies to everyone in the world...probably not. |

This DVD sounds like it is pretty cool!
I can't wait to get my hands my copy. It would be neat if someone could post this in the video section of the forum??? I really don't know that much about computers, but it would be interesting if it could be done so the rest of us could see it? |

I got mine on Wednesday. It was a nice touch. The dvd is great because it gives you more to talk about when giving someone an explanation of your car and why they do things certain ways. It's great. I purchased my car in June and just received it now, so I'm sure more are coming out shortly. I also signed up for the owner circle website and pay my bill there. Maybe that has something to do with it. But I'm sure they send it out to every new owner because it does contain the roadside assistance card.

Thanks so much for that! For ED people you should also get:
2.5) ED stuff to take home with you (do not leave in car or you won't see it again) - First Aid Kit - Hazard triangle - 4 Floor mats (you may or may not have to take these with you. I did, and I got another 4 from the dealership when I picked it up on redelivery) - Front ED license plate and bracket (rear one stays on and you get it back at redelivery) Quote:
