1M with roof rack and bikes

Well, as the 1M is my daily driver it needs to do all kinds of stuff. This includes carrying my mountain bike at times. I bought a genuine BMW base rack to which I added Thule carriers and fairing that I had already. It works great, really stable even at motorway speeds.

I'm tempted to get the BMW base and a ski rack for next winter.

And I regularly put my bike on the roof.

Why not?

1M with a roof rack

They exist. And judging by the license plate, it might belong to a UK forum fellow over here.

Maybe the roof rack should be wrapped or painted in VO too ?

Nah, I was running a roof rack ages ago! Thule, works very well. Even tolerated enthusiastic driving in the Peak District. Just have to be careful with the paintwork when fitting/removing!

Hi, if you are going to carry mountain bikes on the roof of your 1M, you could make sure that they are decent bikes .... :-)

And here I thought you were going to talk about the quality of the wood in the 4 x 4 posts on the roof....

Threads like this are why the "Are Ms special?" thread was so funny. One man's "special" is another man's "Ehhh throw the logs on the 1m"
