New Koni's - little confused

Hey guys,

So I received brand new Koni Yellow sport shocks for my E82 and on the Koni website they list a different model number for the rear's for the E82 and the E92. Apparently, the rear's that I received are model # 8240 1236Sport. and the ones for the the E82 are #8240 1231Sport. I got them off a reputable seller on Ebay and they include the E82 model for the fitment. Can anyone verify that these rears will fit on my E82?

Thanks!

Looks like both these members have moved on but I have this same question,

What is the difference between the E92, 8240-1236 and the E82, 8240-1231?

We have been selling 1236 rears every since they became available. 1231 is likely valved differently for the lighter 1-series.

For reference, TCKR Koni uses the same part number rear shocks for both the E8x and E9x none M.

We use 8240-1236 for the 1-series and 3-series. I think the -1231s are euro only for the lighter 120i versions. FWIW, Bilstein has different models for 1-series and 3-series.
Best regards, Chris

Just to help anyone coming across this thread, KONI specifies the 8240-1231 Sport as the correct rear shock for all 1 Series models in Europe - different than the 8240-1236 for the 3 series.
