3 stage intake?

A 2006 E90 330i N52 has the 3 stage intake, right?

Yes thats one reason why its rated with more horespower than say a 2008i 328i and why they changed it from a 330i to a 328i later. It was the top performing 3 series in the lineup before the N54 engine was introduced. Watchoo planning? Junkyard run?

For you Ottawa based guys, you could talk to Derek at Autovation in Stittsville. He found me a used manifold and did the AA tune to go with it. Not cheap, but as I recall about 1/2 the price of a new unit.

I got it. Its 16 yrs old so has a light film of oil on it and some rusty spots. I haven't really had a better look at it yet. I want to clean it up a bit, paint the rusty spots then try and check the DISA. Car had about 165K kms so I'll check the DISA and maybe rebuild them if necessary. Initial plans are to install with my son then see Autovation for SW update.

Nice, enjoy your project I'm looking for something a bit more ready to go anyway. Let us know how it works out. I thought BPC tune is the way to go?

+1....Guy that did the tuning at BPC is now his own place with StageFP.

He's done my 3SI, Headers, and Milvs. First tune and each re-tune worked flawlessly, and he's a great guy to talk with.

This makes me nervous re: post implementation support. Are we reliant on these tuners very heavily after a tune is done? I guess the backout plan would be to restore OEM software if the tune became problematic?

The only issues you'll have are hardware (failing DISA valves lol), not tune related.
