I've removed the labels from 2 cars, and the outline has shown on both. I didn't make much of an effort to get it off - don't think you can.

My MR2 warning stickers included a notice that children should always be in the back seat. It's a 2-seater.

They are stupid lawyer notices. Their only purpose is to make it harder for somebody to sue the car manufacturer when they do something stupid. If we had a legal system that was less than a lottery system we might not have the silly stuff on our sun visors.

I tried this on my old GTI and it left a discolored area. I think the material fades a little, but the area under the sticker is protected from the light, so when you remove it the areas don't match quite right. I imagine the sooner you do this the less likely that would be a problem.

Removing air bag stickers from sun visor.
While GooGone and isopropyl alcohol works, I have found that STARTING FLUID works better.
There may be different formulations, but I used Valvolene brand. It took off the sticker quickly and painlessly, and didn't screw up the vinyl sunvisor. For my 2017 330i ,I sprayed a good amount of the starting fluid on an old cloth rag and immediately wiped the sticker (the starting fluid evaporates very quickly). The sticker started dissolving on the first pass. Try a small patch first just to make certain that BMW hasn't changed the formulation of the plastic on the sun visor before you go "whole hog". But it works perfectly for me. |
