Enjoy time with family, life is precious!

I spent 3 hours yesterday doing the OFHG at 68k miles so I could enjoy today. Hopefully this gasket can last to 170k…

I called my local BMW dealer and was quoted $750 to do the job.

Got around to doing my stainless braided brake lines. If it weren't for the mid-circuit lines by the rear subframe, the job would take an hour. Got it all bled and calibrated with INPA though, feels great!

Went with Techna-Fit lines based on this thread

That's been the daily price at Amazon for a while. That's the price I would've paid if I hadn't known about the Prime Days.

Ejected a CD.

Doesn't sound like much, I know, but my CD player hasn't worked since I bought the car two years ago. I didn't know that at the time, inserted a CD and... nothing. Wouldn't play, wouldn't eject. OK, no biggie. Then last week the CD started playing... I thought I hit AUX but actually selected CD. And today it actually ejected. It's both wonderful and a bit disconcerting that it fixed itself.

Your company

is making you go back to the office?
Lucky me that I am still allowed to work virtually from home.

Same. A lot of companies learned they didn't REALLY need people in offices for collaboration last year. My boss (2400 miles away) told me it's my choice on going back or not. So I moved away from the city

Man I miss going in to work so much. Been bouncing off the walls working from home. Finally get to go back after the 4th. Luckily my company announced that we can still WFH on Friday + 1 day of our choice. Perfect balance for me considering that I have a 1hr commute.

Both of those would be excellent choices of course, but this was Billie Eilish. First (and last!) CD I had purchased in a decade or more. My base stereo doesnt do music streaming so I thought Id try some new music on a CD. Doh. Later I ended up downloading the same album from iTunes and now I have my whole library available through an iPod touch via an aux cable. Its not elegant but it works.

Looking to step up my sound quality a bit. Currently running a Bavsound amp through the stock Hi-Fi speaker using a Tune2Air WMA3000 (bluetooth through a y-cable).

Is a headunit swap worth the upgrade? I'm not really interested in an Android headunit because I can't seem to find a recent one with OEM-like fitment, and I just use my phone for nav and music so I don't really need CarPlay. I know people report better quality after swapping, but I'm not sure how much of an improvement it'd be given that I already have an aftermarket amp.

Also thought about dropping the bluetooth adapter for a BMW y-cable, but would that really make much difference given that my current solution uses a y-cable?

So it was your own CD. I was thinking it was a discovery from the previous owner

On the topic of music (mostly podcasts, actually, in my case) from my phone, Bluetooth is a must have for me. Added a Bluetooth / FM adapter in our old Odyssey and while it's terrible, it basically does the job for spoken word. Wouldn't do music through it, though; there's a high pitched whine varying with engine speed at higher RPMs that precludes any musical joy.

Well, not exactly today, but a couple days ago for my 2012 128i I changed the engine air filter with a Mann one, and the cabin air filter with an Epauto one. Mann was not exactly the same as the BMW filter the car had... had small differences but looked very sturdy as well. Epauto cabin filter looked very similar to the one it was installed, and was a perfect fit.

Head unit swap is great if you want to change functionality. Speaker upgrade will make a much larger improvement in sound quality, though.
Personally, I thought BavSound too confining so added a mObridge DSP DAC (to the H/K system) with aftermarket amps and speakers. Therefore, no experience with BS. But their speakers should blow the Hi-Fi setup away.

Finally revised my PCV. External low side 2JZ with pcv delete fitting in VC and check valve post CC. All 1/2 hose to a barb in my TB vac adapter. Stock high side still.
