ABS sensor issue/Does 1 Series have tone ring
Thanks in advance, my 2011 135i had all 3 yellow abs, brake and traction lights come on, shut off the car and reset then drove home fine. Next day same thing and a cut in power. I pulled the code to be P15C9 relating to the right rear ABS sensor and took off the sensor to take a look.
Cleaned off the sensor but there was no damage, just some rust. On YouTube others have said that the tone ring expands due to rust and makes contact with the sensor. Looked inside the hub to try take a look at the tone ring but did not see one. Would a 2011 135i have the ring built into the bearing? If so would it be likely that the sensor just needs to be replaced? If not my only other thought was that the corrosion was so bad the tone ring rusted out but I don’t think that likely. Thanks again. |

Can't speak to the tone ring issue but had all the same stuff light up twice in the last year. Luckily Protool showed wheel sensors, first the front left then a year later the front right. Replaced both from FCP Euro, cheap (at least in the U.S.) Cleared all the codes with Protool and no issues since.
