Did that drive a couple years ago, can confirm, great road.

But nothing beats Stelvio Pass.

Not when it's crowded, though. So much traffic there.

You aren't kidding. That is why I did it "backwards" and early in the morning.

Did the Million Dollar Highway in CO this spring in a late season snowstorm, which added to the challenge, and also had the beneficial side-effect of removing almost all the traffic. I'm sure I'm forgetting some others.

Here's the lower section of 550 in CO:

Have to dig around for photos from some of the other roads.
Silverton is a cool spot. We frequent the area as we have family in Durango. I've taken both our former ZHP and the 135i there. Beautiful.

So many good spots in Colorado and Utah. Cannot go wrong.

We stayed in Durango at the General Palmer and did the train into Silverton one day, then up to Ouray for a few days before heading home. Great area.

Obligatory train photo:

Another fun road in that region is CO 141 up into Grand Junction. Miles and miles in the canyon, spectacular scenery, and (unlike 550) mostly deserted.

Beautiful pictures! I don't think I could even imagine something like that!

drove down this road in overtown here in Miami and let me tell you..
it was devine.. I scored a little bit of pcp... solicited some day walkers(didn't have the money to purchase one since I had to put 93 in my bottomless pit of a car!) and saw some people that were so sleepy, they layed down right on the side walk..

I live in the NOVA area, Manassas to be exact, and always looking for other 1ers to carve up some twisties. Had a group previously that did the Skyline Drive trip which was a blast. The scenery like in the earlier post are not too bad...hahaha. It?s fantastic.

Since no one here in socal posted, theres a canyon behind redlands, ca called san timoteo canyon. About 15 miles long and has some great twisties. Also has a 3 mile straight away with 2 lanes for roll racing and top speed. Has a lot of traffic during the day, but at sunset, its a beauty

Finally got my new-to-me 128 convertible onto the Cherohala Skyway. Great ride, very little traffic. The Blue Ridge Parkway is next - my better half has family in Asheville NC so the drive should be great. I've got an '11 128 convertible - white with red leather and a stick shift. I'll put some pictures up soon.

Sounds like a blast! I wish I was on the west coast, you guys have real mountains, not just glorified hills.

Highway 33 from Ojai north, then turning off on Lockwood Valley Road, and back to Ojai. If you've driven the road before you know what it's about, if you haven't please keep it on the low down...

I did this drive today! HWY 191 in Eastern Arizona. I've been wanting to do this drive for about 20 years but it is a looong drive to get there (about 3-4 hours from Phoenix). I've always heard great things about this road and it did not disappoint.

A small coupe like the 1 series is perfect because the road is so tight in places, low end torque is a very good thing! Make no mistakes, almost no guard rails and the edge of the road has lots of shear drops! Very little traffic.

I put on about 600 miles today mostly just getting there and back (came through Eagar and Show Low on the return).

I was in Prescott back in the end of July this year taking a look at Embry-Riddle. It's a beautiful area, and the high desert weather is my favorite! Unfortunately, my dad and I were in a Kia Soul(less), not a particularly corner-carving-inclined car, if I do say so...
