He's a little too close.

You definitely shouldn't go with the Toyo's for a DD Alex.

coming out of the hairpin, when i stopped i had a nice view of my skid marks

does an aftermarket charge pipe void the warranty?

well at the risk of upsetting my saffa mate, i'd say technically yes. BUT, will they deny you a claim on say a turbo because you have an aftermarket CP?????

Alex, I get the impression you would be more comfortable with a stock replacement, if in fact you need a replacement and cant just re-attach the stock CP and leave the mods till after warranty runs out.

The hairpin on the long circuit bit before the uphill right hander?

If the dealer can prove an aftermarket part caused the problem, then they will deny the claim. The part must be related to the problem. E.g. If a turbo goes and you have an aftermarket intake/filter, they would probably deny warranty.
This is the first I've heard of this. Where did the screw come from in the CP??

The ambient temps hit over 35 Deg so it was a hot one out there yesterday, with a couple of local cars pulling out due to heat after the second session. I made it to the 4th before i started getting a persistant limp (it could have been the first heat induced limp as oil was getting over 140) and i pulled in early.

I started the 5th session and on the 3rd lap mid way through turn 1 I lost all power , when i managed to come to a stop i realised the engine had just cut out an required a full ignition off and on before the car would start.

Well by this time I figured that was hint 2 and I was not real interested in what hint 3 was going to be so I packed up and went home. Why am I saying all this in a brake thread??????

Well this was the first REAL test I have hada chance to put the new Nashins through and I can say WOW. ZERO brake fade on a very warm day with new R888's on the front (which by the way i also highly rate). They stopped from the first corner to the last, with never a hesitation. In fact I pushed them 50% harder than the stockers (which imho are pretty decent on the 335) and they still have more to give.

My only regret is that I should have gone for the smaller size up front so I could get an 18' rim on, so I would have a wider selection of tyres.
Sweet. Glad the BBK by Nashin is doing justice. I'm curious in which type and size you got as well as the pads. Care to share?

That's odd. The only screw I can think of is from the T-map sensor but no idea how that could have gone in. When I finally get around to making my Mr5 intake I'm not going to be using any screws for this very reason, way too risky.

the circumference is rather huge on those brakes, are they really suited for 19" wheels?

yes probably correct, after thinking about it, why not fit the biggest possible size you can, with that much surface area they have to be good. They look good too.

no more track days till january for me, maybe feb

Hey guys,

after quite a bit of pushing and prodding on the part of Advan (in particular myself), we have convinced Nashin to alter the way their logo is displayed on the N-Series and G-Series calipers.

I will shortly have some pics of a G-Series kit, that no longer uses a heat resistant decal, but rather the logo has been laser etched into the caliper surface after painting.

The laser etched Nashin logo on the black G5 & G3 calipers looks sweet!

The N-Series calipers can now be supplied without machining of the logo top surface, essentially retaining the painted finish of the caliper.

In a few weeks I will also have some pics of a N7 & N3 caliper, painted in "Dignity Golden" that feature the new optional finish, the 335i customer had chosen. The N3 caliper is of a new design too that has been aesthetically revised, so that should be interesting.

Cheers,

JD.

Hi Gents,

I thought I had lost these pics, but following a tidy up of my desktop, here you go!

These are G-Series calipers that feature a laser etched logo, rather than Nashin's conventional heat resistant decal.

I believe Peter will be swapping out his N-Series cast Mono-Block caliper equipped BBK, for a Billet-Forged G7 (370 mm rotor) & G5 (355 mm rotor) BBK in the near future.

The calipers shown in these pics are Nashin's 18" wheel friendly G5 (6 piston) and G3 (4 piston) variety, which are compatible with a 355 mm front rotor and a 330 mm rear rotor respectively.

Cheers,

Justin.

Here are some pics of a N7 & N3 caliper, painted in "Dignity Golden" that feature the new optional finish, as chosen by a 335i customer.

FYI guys,

all of the N-Series calipers can now ordered with the colour matched non-machined caliper surface.

The last pic illustrates the revised N3 caliper, which now has an appearance more consistent with its N7 or N5 big Brother.

Cheers,

JD.
