Save your hood release cable from snapping

If your hood release lever is getting harder and harder to pull, you might think the cable is binding. I sprayed some Fluid Film on the hood release mechanism and the binding is gone. The hood release lever pulls nice and smooth, just like it was new again.

The added advantage of Fluid Film is that it is lanolin based. It contains no solvents. This means it stays where you spray it and doesn't disappear every time you wash your car.

Also, Spray some lube in the little box that connects the two pieces of the cable together.

If you follow the engine bay from that release area where you took the picture up near where the drivers side headlight is, there's a little rectangular box where the two pieces of the cable attach. I sprayed some lube in there and it made the action a million times smoother.

You started it, plus the can of Fluid Film does say "Penetrant and Lubricant", now keep it family friendly.
