have I got 5" or 7.5" VRSF intercooler?

Hi

Im based in the UK and there is only one place I can order VRSF products. I ordered the 5" stepped HD intercooler but now that I have the car apart Im not sure if I have received the 7.5 HD intercooler? the box does say 5" but this looks too big and measure 7.5 not 5" ?
I have a N54 135i (RHD)

The VRSF website states that cutting is not required for the 5", but with the intercooler I received I will need to remove all the plastic trim in front, the same as I have seen for the 7.5" race hd installs on here.

I cant find any info on dimensions anywhere for these intercoolers, mine has a depth of 7.5" and is 8" high, it has the HD fin pack so this would a 7.5" correct?
As I only have the standard turbos (until they die, then Pure Stage2) I think the 7.5 would be overkill and they would work harder to fill the vast size of this intercooler? does anyone know for sure what this is?

Here it is lined up with the fan:

That's the stepped. I had to cut a small corner of plastic for mine to fit. I'm not sure how it would go in without a little cutting.

What he said, it's the 5" stepped (I have the same). You will need to do very slight trimming on the little plastic pieces behind the bumper but in front of where the IC goes.

Where does the 5" measurement come from as this is 7.5" deep? I thought it would have been 5" deep?

I'm sure I will have to cut he entire bottom horizontal plastic part away from the car to get this to fit as there is no room to shove it up in the slot

that looks like the new 7" HD. definitely need to cut to have that one fit. Return and get the 5 if that's what you want.

Same thing happened to me when I ordered my intercooler. Got the 7.5" HD. Required a lot of trimming and I don't see how anythimg bigger would fit. I also replaced my turbos with rebuilt stock at the same time along with VRSF cat less downpipes. I don't notice any negative effects running MHD stage 2+

Got it fitted today, lots of cutting and I needed longer screws as I could not get it high enough to use the supplied screws (not sure how they expect them to be long enough, it cant sit any higher without removing the the entire plastic frame)
