Probably going to sell: fix paint scuffs?

Hi All!

My dad has a 1M with super low miles. He’s the original owner and it’s immaculate other than a rock chip on the roof (no idea how it go there) and some paint scuffs on the underside of the front valence. He’s think of letting it go cause he’s basically hardly driven it the last few years. He took it to a local higher end car dealer (they sell used porches, Ferraris, etc) to see if they would handle the sale for him and they mentioned that he should have the paint issues fixed prior to selling (if he decides to sell). I personally think he should list it with the paint issues in place since a car is only original once.. but I wanted to ask everyone’s thoughts. Any strong opinions out there?

Can you post some pics? How bad is it? If it's not terrible, I'd leave it as is.

Thanks! Had my dad send over some pics- I added them to the initial post. Really annoying because the car is otherwise in amazing shape and has been absolutely babied.

If this is the only damage, other than the rock chip, I might be tempted to leave it as is.

How many miles are on the car?

You might look in to https://bringatrailer.com/bmw/1m/ , if you have not already.

That’s kinda what I’m thinking. 3,015 miles.

I’ve been following the recent sales on BaT and Cars and Bids. Seems like they’ve really gone up as of late!

I’d leave it as is but offer to repair for the next owner at cost.

Hi All,

Meant to check in here but I’ve spent the last week moving 1400 miles….

In any event, my dad decided to sell the 1M. It’s currently up for auction on pcarmarket. https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/2...oupe/#comments

I'd definitely have the front valence resprayed, would be easy and cheap. Anything higher up like rock chips I'd just carefully touch up or with surface scratches try to hand buff out.
