ALSO I'd like to point out that if you sit in a manual transmission E82 without iDrive, besides a small handful of features (rain sensor) the car looks and acts like any other car that's much older but just well-optioned out. It gives a sense of simplicity, although under the hood and throughout the cabin the electronics and engineering say otherwise. I love it.

I noticed this as well and wondered what the guys using battery tenders were thinking. I've used them on my vettes for years, but not on the BMW.
