A coilover kit is the next thing up...you can get non-damping adjustable coilover kits for a couple of hundred more than you'd spend on shocks + springs. H&R makes one, don't know which dampers they use. Tein might make one, KW of course etc etc. Even some other lower end brands like: https://x-ph.com/vogtland-sport-susp...t-for-bmw-e8x/ Vogtland I think is owned by KW if I'm not mistaken? I used them on an older A4, seemed ok for the price, but blew one of the rears within a year You generally get what you pay for I guess. On a last note - the warranty team at Bilstein just replied to me and states they show January as an ETA for the front B8 shocks, that's their local inventory but not what distributors would get specifically...so yea it might be a month or two past that....sucks EDIT: Oh yea, ST makes decent stuff for not too much money! |

I got my Bilstein B8s from TireRack in less than 2 weeks after I placed my order, around a month ago. Thought there might be a problem when I ordered but no, they were in stock and shipped pretty soon after I ordered.

Yea - I had heard from Bilstein that they were getting re-stocked in early January, so that lines up with your date. My distributor just needed a kick in the ass to check, and I've been lazy to follow up until I just got sick and tired of driving on a busted strut. It's winter, so not too miffed about delaying a couple of weeks...

UPDATE: I ended up canceling my order because the manufacturer changed the ship date to mid April (keep in mind i ordered on black Friday via summit racing) . Luckily I was able to source one from ECS Tuning , shout out to Devin for pulling the last one from the shelf and same day shipping with a little discount too.

FINAL UPDATE:
Sent in both my front shocks about a month back, John Trexler from the Bilstein warranty department was extremely helpful. Just got an email confirmation a couple of days ago, they have accepted my warranty claim for both front struts and will be sending me a cheque for my full replacement purchase amount. This whole thing would've been no sweat had there not been the ridiculous wait because of the supply issue..... |

folks at ECS tuning are great people. I had order the B6 1M rear dampers, and when bimmerworld who had a better deal on the B8 fronts were not willing to ship it to my US office cause the CC was from north of the border, unless I wired transfer, I reached out to ECS, and they just matched the price and delivered them with minimal delay.

The prices must have changed back. I'm seeing them for $809 on ECS.
