You can also input the last 7 digits of VIN into this calculator to get all of the information about your car:

It works for my MINI. My thought is that the 135i is too new. System probably needs to update for the new 08s.

I wouldn't put my VIN into any internet service. You don't know what they'll use it for.

I found this decoder to be pretty good. It's from the Ford website, but knows of all recent new cars.

It should not show as a 3series.

?

Just got my VIN.... Can't get any action through the BMW site. My sales rep thinks that it is too early... My digits don't seem to go with the example on this thread. For example, according to the breakdown given, my plant digit is a V, but their is not V in the legend...

Here's what I got when I put the last 7 characters of my VIN into that calculator.

Mine is a manual transmission, and obviously couldn't have been built in Dec 2006 !

Series: E82
Model: 135i
Body type: coupe
Catalog model: USA
Production date: 2006 / 12
Engine : N54
Transmission : Unknown
Steering: Left
Catalyzer: YES

The Leipzig plant is not listed in the decoder, which is pretty new so the decoder must be out of date.

Hi,
First of all, sorry for my english, i'm french.
I've just a question about the software used behind the VIN Decoder website.
IS it ETK, TIS ???
SO, in others words, I would like to get myself all the options of my car from the VIN, without using a website..So is it possible with ETK or TIS?
Thanks in advance,
