my car JUST arrived at the dealer.
but it still has to be registered before i can pick it up, because it was bought out of state.
im getting there.

has all week 16'ers picked up there cars?

Nope. I got a call from the dealer this morning, when I saw the caller ID I got all excited, but as it turns out my CA quit yesterday and the guy taking over my sale was just calling to introduce himself. He said the car should be there "any day" so hopefully it will be very soon. <fingers crossed>

I am in Oahu. You might see a few 1s in Maui though. You couldn't come at a better time, the weather is perfect right now.

Hey congratulations Dan! You are finally getting your 1er. I totally empathize with the slightly tainted excitement. I had the same feeling. But once I got in the driving seat, it came back :smile:.

I got mine on Friday afternoon. Jet black, with black leatherette. On second thought, I should have gone for coral red leather. But then I'm cheap, so I'd stick with the leatherette

The CA threw in free floor mats. Thats pretty much all I got I think :iono:.

Since I was away on the weekend, I only drove it a bit on Friday night and then today morning. I got a hint of an open lane, so I thought I'd see what this baby can do. And but before I knew it, even without realizing it, I was doing 100mph. I had to quickly slow down. I can do without a speeding ticket within the first week of getting my 1er!

I kinda expected it, but the car is 3 days old and there is already a thin layer of dust accumulating on its shiny black surface. Its gonna be hard keeping it clean. I'll post some pics soon.

Hope the other week 16ers are enjoying their new cars, or hope they will in the not so distant future.

Well maybe not! I just got a call back from the CA and now he says that the service department is saying that they can't do the PDI until Thursday for a Friday delivery.

I put some pressure on him to get it done sooner and he said that he would try to get them to do it sooner, but he couldn't guarantee it. So now I could end up waiting up to 3 more days, and the soonest I'll have it is tomorrow evening.

I went and sat in mine this evening. I happen to be up in Reno for something else, so I decided to stop by just to check it out. The first thing I noticed is that the car is a lot more attractive in person then it looks in pictures. Up to this point the only other 1er I've seen was a Sedona 128i, which I wasn't too keen on. (could have been the color, could have been the different aero kit) But my Montego 135i looks really sharp! I didn't even mind the chrome grill as much as I thought I would. It actually makes it look kind of classy.

My CA wasn't there when I showed up, but I talked to another one and he said that he knew about my request to have it PDI-ed sooner and that they were going to do it sometime tomorrow for a Thursday delivery. I told him I'm free any time, so if they happen to get done early tomorrow I can pick it up tomorrow evening instead. He said maybe. So it looks like, at the very least, I should have it Thursday.

Cool! So do you plan on joining the local BWA CCA chapter? I think I mentioned this before, but I plan on joining so that I can go to their driving school event at the Reno/Fernely track at the end of the month. Should be a lot of fun.

Congrats Dan! I just had the pleasure of driving mine home for 2 hours and it was great. Had trouble keeping it under 80. You are right, the car looks so much better in person. Not that it ever looked bad in the pics. Are you going to get any tinting or clear bra done? I'm going to try to get mine in on Saturday for the tint.

You can probably just wipe it off with a soft cotton towel and a little bit of water.
