What I need to do is get me some good towels to use when I remove the polish .... !! ... What are you all using out there?

GOOD microfiber towels are probably your best bet, but make sure you take the tag off before you use them. Also, never put fabric softener in the wash when you are cleaning them and wash them seperately.

Simple answer- Car Washing/Drying. If you take your car to a car wash and pay someone to wash, your going to get swirls.
The color of your car also will greatly enhance your swirls to the naked eye. Example, I have a white BMW X5, it looks good pretty much all the time (dirty or not). The white does not show swirls to bad. Now, take my Jet Black 135i....if you fart near my car the paint will swirl I recommend washing the car yourself using a sheepskin wash mit, a bucket with a dirt guard, and use a waffle weave micro fiber drying towel and blot the paint to dry. Next, anytime you polish or wax, use microfiber cloths only.... |

Do a search on proper car washing using the two bucket method. It will reduce your chances of swirls, but there is no way of 100% avoiding swirls. The best way that I know of is not touching your car completely. There are techniques to do touchless car washes but it isn't exactly convient or cost friendly. There are also touchless car washes you can take your car to but depending on how hard their water is and how pressurized it is, it could damage your paint and strip your wax or sealant off. You need to make a compromise depending on how hardcore you are about detailing and the amount of time you want to spend. Swirls will happen regardless of what you do, but there certainly are ways to minimize them.

I've heard on many occasions that BMW Jet Black paint will swirl if you stare at it hard enough.

It doesn't help to have had your car pass through the hands of the monkeys at the Oxnard VPC facility as well, those animals are particularly adept at scratching paint.:eyebulge:Like Robert, I use Griot's, the best! Do what ya' gotta; do to rescue the paint from the Oxnard VPC.
