Finally got around to opening all the bits I purchased on black friday. Decided to lay everything out to see how much work I have to do. M3 arms & Turner monoball bushings, Meyle HD end links, Meyle HD Z4 tie-rods and ECS trailing arms.

Still need to get Dinan rear toe links, M3 rear camber link conversion kit and Ohlins R&T. Hopefully in the next month or so they will fit in the budget.

Looks great! I'm sure you're going to love it that's going to be a really big improvement over stock.

Got the 1M battery bucket and rear support bar in and picked up a M2 diffuser. Didn't get pictures but it lines up with the 1M exhaust and should work perfect once I attach it to the 135i diffuser, trim, fill and paint it.

Also stuck trying to decide which dp I want. Leaning towards CP-E catted.

Just waiting for it start getting warm again to start all the new suspension and exhaust work.

Whoa what!! I didn't know you could put the 2 series diffuser on a 1er??

It's going to be a lot of work. Gained inspiration from the 2er folks in Germany. http://www.2ertalk.de/topic/1618-fit...lweiss/page-11

But it lined up with the OEM 1M exhaust I have. So just have to do some trimming of my carbon diffuser. Attach the M2 piece, fill any spots, sand and paint.

Hows it match against the contours of the 1er diffuser? Interesting project as I'm in a similar boat. Was going to modify my Maddad whisper to a quad to fit the Rieger quad diffuser (same spacing as 1M), but this could look seriously cool.

Been needing a side project.

I was considering the rieger quad as well, Im just not a huge fan of that diffuser so I figured I would attempt something on my own before going that route.

Attached is a very quick mockup, its actually smaller than what I mocked up and will retain the open vents on the performance diffuser and fit the contours pretty well... Ill try and get some real world pictures tonight.

Love it. Is the 2er diffuser just that small piece or have you hacked it up already.

Just that small piece. The M2 is smaller than the 235i piece.

Looking online I see that. Trying to find a urethane performance style copy of the M2 diffuser for the fins. Plastic to plastic will mate better.

Come to the conclusion the M2 market is even more saturated in CF than ours. Esp given the stock M2 diffuser is only ~$100, ill probably go that route.

More parts trickling in. Been debating hard these past few weeks regarding the subframe. I'm considering just moving over to the M3 subframe now that way I'm installing all M3 suspension bits at one time.

Other than that only thing left is to order my Ohlins kit from HPA.

Came across a fun thread regarding M DCT shifter and GTS logic. Think completion of this would really help round out the clone project of a N55 DCT 1M.

Keep in mind that the subframe and M3 diff will require a custom prop shaft. Also, I'm not convinced the diff is the best value compared to a geared lsd in terms of strict longevity. Stronger axle shafts are available from Mfactory if that's a concern. I was recently looking into just swapping a M3 DCT rear end (3.15) and it really just didn't make much sense with all the costs involved considering I already had most of the M3 rear arms.

So how does this affect handling by essentially widening the front but leaving the rear OEM?

I Agee. But you can swap the sub frames leaving the 135i diff in.

It essentially squares the car. I went conservative this first round on tires with 255 all corners. Once I get the suspension upgraded and aligned properly I should be able to upgrade to 265-275 squared. Issue is cost and 135i rear with 275. So will probably leave at 255 squared until I widen the rear arches.

Car handles great now with a worn m sport suspension so once the new suspension is on it should be go-kartish again.

Sick build btw. I have stumbled upon the m3 rear end. Everthing from the subframe and upper arms lined up. Used stock camber, trailing arms, hubs, brakes, e-brake line. Only thing you would need is the adjustable m3/1m rear toe arms. I bought the diff (3.15) and subframe for 650, axles 300 arms 400, and custom driveshaft that needs m3 rear and 135i front-350. My insta is 1cholic and ask away if you have more questions. I will glad to help.

Very nice stuff. I figured drivetrain and engine mods would be the last thing I do since I'm still considering a few things in that regard.

Once the body is done I'll have to decide between making a N55/S55 child or swap the S65 in. also considering a manual swap at this point. The DCT unfortunately really dates the car, even tho I love it.
