UPDATE: Just got mine replaced today, took about an hour and covered under warranty. Lets see how long this one lasts.

Well the thing is made from thin plastic and is subject to the weather and temperature changes. Its not a surprise that they dont last. Im just glad they are covered under warranty.


If they were to cover the outside of the light fixture with a clear plastic laminate then they might hold up better. You know, the kind you put on house windows to keep thieves from breaking thru them. Home security window film.

Whoops, mine is in the shop for the tail light, reprograming and a goofy electric window. April 2010 production. Let's see what happens.

The tail light cracked on one side and completely popped out of the body on the other. I don't understand why they have not found a permanent fix for this.

re: reprograming, for what? I guess it is the latest transformer strategy.

my car has 20k miles, first fix for my brake light. It has been cracked for forever, but finally fell off.

Here is what it says

Per SIB 63 10 08

Parts: Third stoplamp 63-25-7-164-978
Spring for Chmsl 63-25-7-211-238
4 hex nuts

all under warranty of course!
