A quick update on this. I'm still working with suppliers for Pentosin FFL-3 and with dealers for MTF-LT-5. Hopefully I'll have something worthwhile for us soon.
I talked to Parts Geek (they had the best deal I've seen online) and they wouldn't go meaningfully lower on the price, but they did say they would do free shipping (normally it's $8.95) if you bought 6 liters or more. The guy said the price would be $20.94 x 6 liters + free shipping. Using higher math, that means the delivered price per liter would be $20.94...but you have to buy at least 6 liters. This might be a good way to go if you know 1-2 other 1M owners in your area and want to get 2-3 liters each - or if you like to change the fluid in your 1M every fortnight (you can never be too safe). :) If you want to do this, contact Parts Geek directly using their online form (here) and direct your message to August (the guy I talked to). I'll let you all know what else I can find - I'm still working on a true group buy. Have a great weekend! |

Quick update, everyone.
I'm still contacting and hearing back from dealers about a group buy on BMW MTF-LT-5 (sorry for the delay - I've been super busy). Hoping to have something final within two weeks, ideally sooner. The best deal I could find on Pentosin FFL-3 is from Parts Geek with a purchase of 6 or more liters ($20.94 per liter and free shipping - see post #23 at the top of this page for details). Since most of you will probably only want 2-3 liters, you can see if other 1M owners in your area want to go in together on the purchase. I'll post here as soon as I have something final on MTF-LT-5. Thanks for your patience. |

Nice pic ^^^ and thx for the initiative. I tried bringing in the Canadian ///M maintenance doc to a nearby dealer (with whom I had no prior relationship) in the hopes of getting the tranny fluid replaced, and of course they completely refused to do it. I should have know the moment they wrote my car in as a 135i LOL (and this 20ft away from their showroom where they had a new 1///M for $20K over sticker). So about to do this myself, if there is someone in/near Miami that wants to team up on the bigger order, lemme know.

I'd be in for this. I would even consider buying the full 6 liters. Never hurts to have extra and change it a bit more often.
