My 1M Euro Delivery Report (warning 100+ pics)
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com …… with a layover in Paris’ CDG airport. After arriving in Venice, we took a private water taxi to our hotel. Hint: Bring your bags into the cabin with you otherwise your bags will be soaked. Arriving in Venice. The canal entrance to the hotel with our room’s balcony above. It was an apartment-style hotel with a bedroom and kitchen. Out and about in Venice Heading towards St. Mark’s Square Found a street with my name. Ended up finding a lot more. Italian clothes dryer. My sister and I. St. Mark’s square. Sun starting to set. Next day, leaving Venice towards Murano & Burano Murano Burano Sunset as we head back towards Venice Took a night train towards Munich from the Venice train station. 6 people in a room full of bunk beds. It’s as comfortable as it sounds. Arrived in Munich at 6:30am. Went straight to the BMW Welt. First ones in the door at the welt. Chrome M3 yo! Next gen 1 series. Race-prepped M3 Signing some paper work in the premium lounge. One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. Spotted my car as I waited for delivery time. Delivery time! ///M

All 0’s.
Trunk stuffed with luggage for 4. Drove off to the ///M headquarters in Garching. Inside the studio Back at the welt. Drove just a few minutes away to the Hotel Leonardo Royal. Out to dinner. Not sure what was on top of my steak but it was amazing. The next morning I spent a few hours wrapping the entire front end of the 1M with track tape in the underground parking garage. Out for a test drive on the mean streets of Munich. Out of the city. I wanted to reach the Alps but it got dark. Headed back towards Munich. Hopped on the subway and meandered. Marienplatz Some shops. My mother and I back at the subway. Back at the Leo. Next morning we left Munich and headed to the Nurburgring. Playlist and navi good to go. Is that an energy farm? The unlimited speed sections of the Autobahn are tons of fun. Would be more fun if I could shift past 4500 rpm. Arrived at the ring. This AMG was in front of me as I filled the tank. Very few people on a Wednesday afternoon. At the gate. Gate up, off I go.

I still need to upload my lap video to youtube, but in the mean time here at some screen shots of my laps on the Nordshleife.
I love Gran Turismo too. Coming back in from lap 1. Admiring the company Ended up doing 4 laps before they closed the gates. Wish I got a few more in. Left this on one of the walls at the ring At the restaurant in the Linder Hotel down the street. Drove about 30 minutes to Hotel Wilhelmshöhe, a b&b. Woke up to some nice views through the balcony. Great food, rooms and price. Probably the best place we stayed. Started heading towards Paris. 5hrs later, arrived in Paris. Paris might be the least car-friendly place I have ever driven. Motorcycles and scooters split lanes like it’s their job. Pedestrians walk all over the place. Traffic is insane. And the cobblestone roads are a death sentence to your suspension. Otherwise it’s an amazing city.

Next morning was drop off. 1379kms and it's already asking for service.
Got off on the wrong subway stop on the way back. Did some major walking. Eifel Tower at night. Mmmm macaroons Next day at the Louvre. Notre Dam Sunset on our last night in Paris. Next morning we headed back to Miami where we were greeted with torrential downpours. All in all, it was an amazing trip and I was surprised nothing went majorly wrong. If you have the opportunity to do Euro Delivery, i HIGHLY recommend it. I will update this thread when I pick up the car at the Performance Center in Spartanburg, SC. Also a big thanks to Steve Quinn at New Motors BMW in Erie, PA (http://steve4bmw.com/about.html). This is my first new car purchase and I couldn't have asked for a more helpful and attentive CA.

Nice ED writeup. You came in October when the weather was still warm-ish. Now its cold over here. On some mornings ice - like today. Soon we will have snow.
Btw... for anyone thinking of going to Venice... I know of a very nice island near Venice that is so sweet: Lido di Jesolo. You can drive the 10kms to the end of the island and take a water-bus directly into an Marco Plazza! It is a nice way to see Venice but stay outside of it with a car. |

Great pics!! Sounds like an amazing trip. You brought back fond memories of my ED last month... the wait for the car to arrive back in the U.S. is torturous!

Congrats man! Jealous that you took delivery of the car in Europe! Brought back many memories of my vacation in Paris a couple years ago. Let me know when you get your car in Gainesville and we'll arrange a meet. I actually met another AW 1M owner who lives in Gainesville...he actually drove here (Jacksonville) to have the same window tinter do his car as I had mine done.

Hmm, not sure. The place was pretty clean. The parking garage is the primary reason I chose it, haha

Very nice trip! I'm always very impressed to see, that american people drive their brandnew cars through Paris!
I live, only 250 km from Paris, but myself or one of my friends, would never drive a car through Paris, it's really insane the traffic there!! |

Well if at any time on your drive down you find yourself on i95 south traveling through Jacksonville let me know. I live here now and like you I'm rarely ever in Gainesville, only for some of the home games. Otherwise next time I drive to Miami I'll inform the 1M community from the dirty south

It is usually the Americans that have not been to Europe that do. Us Americans that have been stationed in the military or have worked over here know better!! You are right they do drive insane!!!
