This sounds more like a shifter problem than a transmission problem. The transmission simply selects the gear the shifter tells it to select. I haven't experienced the problem you are having.
My only complaint would be the reverse lock out. When quickly coming out of reverse going to first, I sometimes go back into reverse. This can be embarrassing when you miss a gate on an auto cross track. It is definitely operator error, but I just wish the reverse lock out was a little more robust. |

When you miss a gate. If you keep going, it is a DNF. If you stop and backup to get through the gate, the time will count. It will not be a very good time, but it is better than a DNF and get more practice for the next run.

A DNF doesn't prevent you from completing your run. All you're doing by stopping and reversing is holding up the event.
