Considering I only caught a glance of it rounding the corner, I wouldn't have been able to discern black vs. carbon black, unfortunately...

I drive a mix of highway and traffic (commute into Boston) which consistently yields 25MPG. If I have a tank that's mostly highway, I get about 27 (at 75-80MPH).

2009 135i; getting 20mpg around town running Shell/BP 93 octane. I can get 22mpg if I drive conservatively, taking advantage of fuel cutoff on decel instead of using the brakes.

Sound like volumetric efficiency and direct injection is working is magic here with the 135's beating out the 128's. 21.1-23 Daily 40miles half highway half city traffic Cobb Sport 91 octane.

I average 20 - 22 mpg on 93 octane, completely stock, driven hard, more than half highway.
When I got the car the average read 15.4. I guess the previous owner and I may have different definitions of hard driving. |

Very small sample size...just picked up a 2011 135i Friday and in the 200 miles of mostly spirited driving since I'm averaging 16.8 mpg...hopefully it goes up from there...

67k miles on my 09' 135i. I get about 27-30MPG highway and 20-23 city. Only use top tier gas, there is a difference in gas. I used to run lubricity testing on all major fuel brands in college. I drive sporty, but not WOT. Also, I've had an intake valve cleaning performed which seemed to improve MPG by 1-2 and how the car feels in the higher RPMS when I do get on it.

Update on my 2010 135i 6-spd manual with about 13,800 miles (N54). I use the app "Road Trip" on a iPhone to calculate mileage, not the OBC, although they match up nearly identically for overall average mileage, 23.14 mpg since taking possession of the car in SC 1/10 (PCD). The last year has yielded a bit higher overage average, 23.83 mpg. I admit in the city, once at operating temp, I do a lot of skipped shifts and rarely run much above 2K rpm. Shell 93-oct exclusively. The only not stock items are a Meisterschaft Touring HP axle-back and an iCarbon diffuser.
This average doesn't sound that impressive, but considering there's a great portion of city stop 'n go driving, I'm not displeased. On Interstate trips, the highest I've ever seen is 27 mpg (running 3k rpm with a/c); again, this is calculated between fill-ups, which I might add with a small tank isn't that far apart. :P pge |

25.2mpg 51miles each way to work, all 80mph highway. I did pick up like 1.7mpg from just a JB4G5 board in Map5 consistently though.
