This flash, and any flash, will overwrite the PPK. The reason JB4 "works with PPK" is because it is not tuning your car, it is only tricking the DME by intercepting the signal from specific sensors and outputting information to fool the DME.

I have a 2011 DCT and was experiencing the throttle lag. I did a PPK flash and it has cured it. The car should have came from the factory with it installed. Is it possible to figure out what BMW did different with the PPK and include or replicate that in to the MHD flash? I want to go with MHD but I don't want to lose the perfectly acting transmission. Thanks to Wedge Perf for getting this going!!!!!!

Any roms version will be supported (including 98G1B and the new 98H1B), because MHD doesn't rely on the current ROM for tuning, we use exclusively 98g0b. MHD takes care of updating / downgrading to 98g0b for tuning whatever the current ROM is.
If you flash back to stock, you'll get 98h1b or 98g0b, if you have 98g0b or older, and 98g1b / 98h1b if you were on those versions. PPK features are present whatever the OEM map was present before installing MHD. We'll add setting for exhaust burble duration for instance. |

If we didn't have the PPK- would the MHD improve DCT quality of life like the PPK? Or would it not be as good? |

will MHD improve DCT life and throttle lag? or should we put PPK before MHD?

you guys don't seem to understand what a flash does or what MHD/PPK do.
PPK is a flash tune that remaps almost the entire DME. BMW rewrote every table to deliver a more performance oriented driving experience. This includes anti-lag, or the "burble," over-run features (which provides the increased throttle response). The PPK flash also remaps your throttle to be a bit more linear. IF you flash a custom tune with MHD flasher then ONLY the tables your custom tune has modified will be over-written. Therefore, you must flash ppk first to gain any benefits that MHD can't deliver. However, it appears MHD WILL allow you to modify every table you'd ever want to including throttle mapping, over-run burble, and properly adjusted load tables so the DCT DME can see actual load and increase clamping force accordingly. TLDR; It doesn't appear that there is any need to flash PPK before flashing the anticipated MHD tunes. Can't say for sure if OTS MHD tunes will provide a throttle remap. Not everyone wants to change the throttle behavior. |

All of my custom flashes will be based off the PPK and take even greater advantage of the PPK features for the DCT. The primary reason I bought a DCT car for testing and tuning was to ensure the DCT owners get the best maps possible. This will also ensure the maps for the MT and AT cars are 100% compatible as well. MHD is doing a great job with XDF development, new tables and features are showing up all the time. 3.5 bar and cold start noise reduction just showed up in the new release.

I hope I'm not coming off the wrong way, but how would you guarantee that you're matching and surpassing what the PPK offers? I'm assuming you can see the before/after of a car with the PPK and see what's changed and do the same thing? Thanks for your knowledge! |

Working on the stock stage 2 map and still have work to do, but from the virtual dyno you can get a sense of the direction. 100% stock 2012 135i MSport DCT running 92 Oct. |

I'm wondering with the additional tables available if there will be a better way to control post shift behavior. I'm specifically wondering if I will just be able to floor it in 7th gear and let the car auto downshift at higher power levels. I never do this with any of my Cobb maps because it just doesn't feel right.

WedgePerformance, is "Stage 1" for stock cars with no or simple bolt-ons, and "Stage 2" for full exhaust, i.e., downpipe? Just wanted to confirm what's realistic to expect from MHD on both fronts. Looking forward to this!
