135I to 1M bodywork Complete Info w/ PN and pics

Enough people have asked for it so here it is. Venom and I's cars are 99% done and I feel comfortable that this list is complete.

This information couldn't have been completed without Sk8fe, Tony135i, Phil@Reeves BMW, Venom and I's hard work and time. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this information.

I have the PN's in groups. They are blocked off as I placed the orders for the parts. Do note, you need everything.

My name is Venom and I approve of this message.

I would also like to thank Dan@UnitedBMW for giving me the part numbers for the exhaust mod.

Do note that there was some custom work needed for our relay cables. We do not know what P/N that may be for an OEM relay cable.

I would also like to add thanks to David M. of BMW of Concord Collision Center for diligently confirming the parts list and what other parts ended up being needed like the rear bumper caps and the rear bumper support bracket!

It costs $8000 with labor and random other tidbits they opted for. Dont forget wheels and tires.

yep the 2500-3k does not account for body work, paint, and labor costs; it only accounts for the OEM parts listed here which have gone up a little in price since our purchase. All told, depending on the shop It's between 7k and 10k.

figure new wheels on top of that too because you won't want to run the high offset 1er wheels. I have a couple pictures on my build thread of how funky that looks.

Those are the prices 12 months ago. I ordered a new bumper and underbody shield and they were ~$50 more than I originally paid each. I don't know what other prices are affected but I would assume all large bumpers, skirts, etc have gone up.

Hi All -

On our 135i race car, we're moving up in class, so I'm doing kind of 1M front conversion.
https://www.facebook.com/sctsracing/...type=3&theater

So far, I've only used the 1M front bumper, fenders and front fender liners, but we're a race car going to be in prepared class. For a nice street car, I can definitely see wanting to do the rocker panels and rear fender liners. You could easily fab a piece of plastic from the removed fender liners (and use the speed clips) to fill the 2 holes in between the front center undertray and the new 1M front fender liners

@scottn2retro, Can you get some pictures of where the sideskirt meets the fender, I'd like to see what the width difference looks like.

I don't know it, but thanks for posting that. Also, if possible I think this thread should be stickied since I see the topic posted quite a bit.

My facebook album has all these as well as the 1addicts.com race car thread, but I think this is the one you are looking for

Note that for the rear wheels, to get 275x18 tires, Apex race parts makes an 18x9.5 et62 (that's right, 62mm offset) wheel to stuff into the OEM 135 rear fenders without doing that part of the conversion.

I'm having a hard time sorting through this. I need to rebuild the front end of my new 135i. Other than the bumper/fenders/liners did you need to change the bumper mounts/rad support or any other mount points.

You need:

Front Bumper
Headlight brackets
Fender Liners ( 2 parts per side)
Underbody Shield
Front Fenders
Side Markers
Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoir
Front Bumper Ducting

Headlight Washers ( Cut to use 135i ones / Upgrade to 1M ones / Delete them)
