[QUOTE=Matticus91;24009699]Doubt it's related, did the light go away?
Yes, as I pulled out of the driveway (with no power steering) the warning light went off and the power steering returned.

I watched him do it. Looked like he coded it based on what was posted here.

2013 128i Msport 6MT:
This is with the Original battery> started seeing the yellow low battery triangle symbol here and there, so for the past couple nights I left it on a battery tender / trickle charger. No sign of it today, but I have a feeling I will be buying a battery soon. Might just make a preemptive strike and replace it . . . . Thoughts? |

I saw the light last year many times due to a bad dashcam... and my commute is very short. removed it and car is good to go. At the time I thought of replacing the battery too. |

It's possible that the Tint/ClearBra guy had electronics ON for an extended period Monday. I've had it on the battery tender the past 3 nights, and no issues yet, but that's to be expected. My commute is about 15 miles. That should be enough to recharge battery, right? |

Ok, so I bought a nice Bosch battery at Pep Boys 92 AH AGM blah blah, but the same day my Dealership ran a 75$ off battery service deal. Made an appt, and went over yesterday - they wound up selling me the same BMW battery (same specs as the Bosch) and threw in coding. I then returned the Bosch to Pep Boys.
Interesting issue afterward: The car indicated "battery discharge while stopped" after they replaced old with new. I saw the 'car on lift' image, and a the small ! triangle on gauge cluster. It went away after I unplugged my Apple lightning cable from the center console. The weird thing is: I wasn't seeing this error/warning with the original battery. Maybe they updated software, I don't know. Anyway, should I have a specific cable for charging USB to iPhone from center console? Normally, I would just leave it plugged in . . . . (I am a new owner, so flame suit on here) |
