Help! No boost with my n55

Hi all,
Since purchasing my car Ive had some moderate issues with limp mode and loss of power and I'm looking for some advice on how to go about fixing it. My 2011 n55 has never been able to take any serious throttle and will always go into limp mode. The car has PPK installed and I recently added jb4 in an attempt to read the codes and attempt to fix the issue. My car is targeting boost levels of around 10-12psi but only generating up to 2 max! Does anyone have any suggestions, I do have a MaxCare warranty through Carmax but when taking the car there previously, the SA said he didn't experience the claim I was making and sent me home. Should I just take jb4 off the car and bring it to BMW? No other mods besides PPK and JB4. Thanks in advance. Log below shows that I only make boost when my car stops targeting boost.

Do all maps have no boost? Is menu 4 set to 3? Check your JB4 boost connection in the engine again.

Start with the basics. If you haven't replaced the charge pipe, I would do that first. If it's not already cracked or exploded, it will soon. If you already have it replaced, check for loose fittings and see if you can perform a boost leak test. I believe someone may have instructions on how to test for boost leaks.

Do that stuff and let us know what you find out.

You need to put that MaxCare to use. Bother them until they honor it. Prove to them theres an issue.

If your car always has that issue it will be extremely easy to reproduce. Go for a drive with the service advisor and make it happen if he's unwilling. You have a warranty. And what are you doing throwing mods on a car that doesn't work right in the first place? Take off the JB4 at least. Those things are garbage and maybe when the car works correctly you can install a decent flash tune.

Thanks for the responses you guys, Jb4 isn't something I plan to use long term. I was simply adding it to see codes and take a look at what was going on. Most scan tools won't work on my Mac. I have a VRSF cp waiting to go on but I think I'll wait until I fix the problem first. I was thinking if its just a boost solenoid I could replace that cheaper then my deductible but I guess I'll just take it to BMW and let them do a diagnosis, then see if Maxcare will cover it.

Just my 2 cents. It is like trouble shooting 101.
start with the basic. Take off all tuning mods. Make the car plain vanilla. Are you still having issues ?
If yes, check all your vacuum hoses. Check the charge pipes. Check for any loose connections. If you doing 2lb boost , then must be the IC connector or charge pipe.
Invest in some kind of OBD reader. Carly for BMW pretty good.
I learned some much from the community here.

Yeah I'm glad there is a community here to help, I took the jb4 off today and car is actually feeling a bit better. Can't log the boost anymore but it's feeling stronger from my butt dyno. Still made an appointment at BMW to see if they can find anything. I need to do a drive cycle still before they take a look at it right?

Dropped off at the dealer today, when jb4 was hooked up I would pull 2C90-Blow off (tuner code) and 2C57 Reduced power mode (boost disabled)

Have your dealer run a smoke test(machine). I bet your charge pipe is cracked leading into the intake manifold. You definitely have a boost leak somewhere.

PS: I hope you put the JB4 into "Map 0" otherwise your dealer won't be able to read any codes.

Thanks for the response Dack, I'll mention that to my SA when he gets back to me tomorrow. I took the jb4 off completely but was only using in map 0 before removal.

Figured I should update this thread, long story short I am still having the same issue. I've fully removed the jb4 and instead have installed a p3 gauge to properly monitor boost/read codes without the jb4. I took the car in with the codes 2C57 and 2C90, my SA and technician diagnosed the problem as "a jammed DV" So the car spent the last week in the dealer having approx. 3k work done including labor. (Which Maxcare fully covered!)
Unfortunately, Limp mode occurred again on my way home from the dealer and my gauge assured me that I'm still missing most of my boost. Judging from the p3 gauge I'm hitting peaks of about 2.5 psi in 3rd/4th gear. I've already spoken with the SA and I'm going to bring it back in. I'm going to suggest that the dealer does a smoke or pressure test to see where else I might be leaking from. Any other suggestions?

My car is fixed! So I figured I should update this thread incase anyone has a similar issue in the future. I'm thinking the dealer originally saw the 2C90 code and assumed the DV needed replacing but the replacement actually didn't end up changing anything. The real issue was related to the wastegate. Dealer replaced the wastegate arm and actuator and my car is getting FULL boost now! Hitting 12psi on my p3 gauge in3rd/4th and most importantly, no limp mode! Once again, I seriously appreciate the support here from you guys on the forum.

I wasn't aware of BMW selling the wastegate actuator separate to the turbo. It's usually a complete replacement, which is awesome for you!

Yeah I'm definitely not complaining! They used PN: 11747584628 for the replacement.

That part number seem to be the Boost Solenoid.

Does the N55 even use a boost solenoid valve?

Maybe the tech forgot to plug in the DV?
