I'm going to order headlights that state they are for halogen models only and see what happens. 60 days free returns so it's worth giving it a shot I guess. Might blow up or might get decent blacked out, clear corner lights for a good price

Got another part of the diff together...
Put the inner bearing races on using the freeze-and-bake method. Easiest thing ever.

I'm not sure how to link my dad's facebook video ahaha. He was the only smart one to take a quick video. I was just impressed we even got to the car to this point. At the current moment we will have to make the jets smaller on the carbs, running really rich at the moment.

Got the LSD unit in the case. Now I'm only waiting on another shim...
In case you're the observant type, that's a CTS Turbo intercooler for my dad's GTI in the background. That'll be my next project...I have to take everything forward of the radiator off of his car to install it Why, VW, WHY?!

Here
Nothing special but would fulfill my immediate needs of clear corner and blacked out housing. Would be awesome if they worked out completely and I will hang onto them for a bit. I figured if they work, I'll keep them on while I dabble in a retrofit of my oem. edit- I see you have a 128i, so those would actually work perfectly for you I believe? Okay, I didn't do it, but.......
I just got my 128i back from my indy. I had him install M3 RSFB's, and an ECS Tuning rear sway bar. Not a cheap thing to have done. The subframe brake lines were so rusty he had to replace them. Thanks, Ohio DOT for the salt baths. FWIW, I think the way to go for most people would be to try the Whiteline bushing inserts first, and if they don't cut it for you, then by all means go M3 or solid. I inspected the original bushings, and I gotta say I'm shocked that BMW would put those softies in there. it takes very little effort to deflect them, even in your hand. Good riddance.
So how does it drive? pretty nicely! I installed the matching front sway bar last week, and it made a huge difference. It felt like the front was planted, but the rear end was struggling. Not any more. She corners nice and flat, with just enough body roll to let you know how hard you are pushing. Very nice. The turn-in is much more immediate and neutral. Both ends of the car seem to move as one, and it feels like it turns from the center, instead of dragging it's rear around corners. My car is non-sport, so adding a rear sway bar is a big improvement. I'd like to strangle the bean counter who decreed that we must pay extra for a rear sway bar. It never should leave the factory that way. The ride is a bit firmer in back, but not in an unpleasant way. All in all, I'm glad I went for the upgrade. It was not cheap, however! Now I can start more suspension upgrades knowing I have a solid platform. |

These are sexy, where did you purchase from? Wheels and federal rsrr's are my next mod, after installing inserts.

Vert top trouble has anyone run into this? The cover on the driver's side automatically slides when putting the top up but the passenger side won't. Tried seeing what the hell these are attached to but couldn't really see under there. Common issue?
