Wow. That's an amazing price drop. I think I paid $680 or there abouts when Dinan started the initial price reductions.
I would definitely do the DIY kit for $100 more. Eliminates the wondering if you have a shop mess around with the DME whether the tune was erased or not. |

Omg this is cheaper than the new years sales right?
Is this the new regular price? Do these software tunes usually drop in price as cars get older and demand goes away? |

The N54 price is $399.00 , so i guess if you wait another couple of years they will both be the same price .

I do have a RT 66 warranty I don't want to void however. Guessing they'd never find out, especially if I went to indy shops. |

One thing about Dinan is that it says the tune speeds up the water pump, but I don't need to worry about that as the pumps just been changed under warranty.

I mean, the log thing is just nerds like us around here. If mechanicals are working properly, both MHD and Dinan can be set it and forget it.

I went ahead and flashed my car to MHD Stage 1+, nice bump in performance, no apparent downside in terms of driveability or smoothness. The ability to have a live boost gage and shift light on my phone is pretty cool too!

MHD stage 1 is what I would do. Costs less and has lots of options there for you to utilize if you so choose.
Recently tuned with it; not only did it only cost only $320 (could cost only $250 if you don't purchase the monitor module), but it made a very noticeable difference, and it is a bonus to be able to data log and be able to monitor how everything is running. Additionally you can check codes, clear codes, reset adaptations, register a new battery (dealer charges an arm and a leg for this), and change maps in about 30 seconds or so. |

I found another reason to choose the MHD option over the past 2 days. Road trips! Getting 94 octane gas is hit and miss out here in the Kootenays where we are vacationing. Back at home my friendly neighbourhood Chevron dealer has it. As soon as I had to stop and fill up on our current road trip, I was able to flash back to stock for peace of mind.
