This is the first time that I show her in the forum... http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/CIMG2714.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/CIMG2715.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...CIMG2711-1.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/CIMG2709.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/CIMG2710.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/CIMG2711.jpg |

Yes!...you need oem caps...and they're a direct fitment to the Sport Edition wheels, as they use the same centre-bore diameter (handy that...no hub-centric rings required either!).
United BMW -- a forum sponsor -- has them the cheapest at $4.50 each (Tire Rack is either $8 or $9 each...can't recall -- I bought mine with my wheels) http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=6218

Don't see the KM11 in 17" on the TireRack website???
Are the Sport Edition F10s a 'good' wheel? They are quoted with a weight of 20.5 lbs. I was really thinking about going to 17" wheels/tires? Thoughts... |

A week after I got mine, I damage one of them in a curb. I went back to the TireRack website and they were gone... so, I e-mail them and they did have them so I bought a replacement for my damage wheel... Try contacting Gill. They may have them in stock...other places have them at a much higher price...

I like mine a lot. I've got the ones with the black paint / machined finish and they are outstanding in terms of look.

Just a shameless plug for Gill and TireRack and their terrific customer service. I purchased a winter wheel/tire set...it arrived promptly and I installed (first time ever) with no problems. I drove around for a few weeks with an occasional shake and vibration. A re-balancing revealed three needed slight corrections. Gill quickly credited my account to offset the costs of having the affected wheels rebalanced. Thanks Gill...you'll continue to have mine and my family's business.

I don't like the idea of running allows in the winter, snow tends to clump within the rim and can cause large virbations through the suspension. Also genearlly you want a snow tire to be taller and more narrow then the OEM tire. Having a more narrow tire allows it to plow through the snow easier and taller makes the tires softer allowing them to move more. Better traction |

my 1st winter is ahead of me and I was thinking of picking up the following:
Goodyear Eagle Ultra Grip GW3 205/50R16 - All around What do you guys think about this tire? In Columbus, OH it rarely snows and not really more then 2-3 inch in the same day.

Federal Himalaya WS2's
205/50/17 These are on some mesh type alloy wheels. I didn't have any problems with snow being stuck in the rim causing vibrations. If you have a 128i with the upgraded brakes (135i brakes), then you'll need at least a 17" rim. But if you just have the regular brakes, I think 16's will fit.

Will Tirerack be offering any new winter packages for the 135i? Also, will you be updating the first post of this thread? For instance, I'd love to see an updated list of wheels that take the BMW center caps. |

Yes, there are a few new wheel offerings. The easiet way to see them all is to click the "shop now" link at the top of the page, follow the vehicle prompts, and select winter product.
The wheels listed in the first post are still correct, if we find any other wheels that accept them they will be noted.

Hey Gill,I wanted to get your opinion on what I think I will be doing for my winter/summer set-up.* I was thinking about making the OEM wheels into my winter wheels using the LM-25's for tires.* I think they will suffice as I am told that here in CO Springs the do a decent job of clearing roads of snow.* I was then going to purchase the GTS-R's for next summer with a non-runflat performance tire when next summer hits (I will be deployed, but the wife will still be using the bimmer every now and then).* I will then just keep that rotation with wheels and tires.* I know the 18 inch OEMs are not ideal for winter but they should do the job well enough don't you think?* Two additional questions would be what size would you recomend for the winters on the OEM?* I had seen 225/40/18 in other posts, is that the best on OEM's?* Also, does tirerack do any military discount or specials?* Thanks for all the help,Kyle

Looking through this thread I didn't see any pics of the KM11's you have. Did you post pics anywhere else, Can you post pics here if not? Deciding between A7, F10 and KM11's. Are the KM11's still avaliable. They aren't listed on the website. The WS-60's & X-ice's are better in heavy snow/ice than the D3's correct? It looks like the X-ice are better than the WS-60's and cheaper at least in 205's. Any reason you went with the WS-60's Thanks RWD FUN |

Hey Gill,
I am a little confused here, hope you can help. I have 2009 128i with msports wheels (M DOUBLE SPOKE 207 I believe) I currently have Pirelli Pzero RFTs on them for summer, and I want to buy Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 RFT for winter. Because next summer I will get new wheels. Confusing part: Althought Bridgestone tire comes with front: 205/50R17 and back:225/45R17 which are the current sizes on my Pirelli's when I select and set my vehicle from the site, it doesn't offer me this particular product and size. But I am able to browse them if I go thru the Brand selection search.. It is my 1st time buying tires to my car, and I do not wanna screw it up. Do you think this winter tire will fit my current msport wheels? I hope you can shed some light on this. Thanks!
