GP thunders

I put my GP thunders in on the weekend. Quite a tricky little job. I have small hands so could have been worse. I really like the whiter light and I think it gives the car a slightly meaner look. I took photos but they really don't show the difference properly.

The first shot is with the left OEM and right GP thunder in semi darkness (in a carpark).
The second shot is the left OEM and right GP thunder in daylight.

The third shot is what the Gp thunder looks like at night. But it is actually whiter than this in real life.

I also got the H3 bulbs to install but can not for the life of me work out how you access the part of the light where they are supposed to go. The manual is a bit confusing. If anyone has any idea please let me know.

Although, as you say, from the photos, it's hard to tell, I can see the difference between OEM and the GP Thunders. I just ordered the Bimmian H8 bulbs from JleviSW which are supposed to be 4300K to match the stock xenons so I'll post pics up when i receive those. Great mod though, I agree, looks tougher with the white light!

Really? It's like night and day on my screen, so imagine it's even clearer in real life.

I'm considering doing this too, but will wait and see how I go with the stock lights.

Simon...

Timbo I've swapped the bulbs for the corona rings (angel eyes some call them). The brand of the bulb is called Gp thunder and they are a whiter light than the stock bulbs. The colour is almost identical to the headlight where as the stock corona rings are more of a yellowish glow.

It's a pretty cheap mod so I thought I'd do it. I got the bulbs from **********s in the US - you can find them in the commercial section.

Kris yeh the photo really doesn't show it properly but it really is quite a big difference. It is a more defined ring too which I like.

Thanks Harpoon, I'll have to keep an eye out for you (I'm just down the road from you in Neutral Bay), so I can see the GP Thunders in the flesh... tried it on different monitors and for the life of me can't see the difference in those photos.

I have a set if anyone wants them...? I prefer the factory bulbs, they stand out more in my opinion. PM me if you're interested.

Gotya! Thanks for that. I at least now understand what the mod is!

Will have to wait until I see it in the flesh to see whether I want to do it.

actually new e82/e87 angel eye solution is available, this just a regular h8 bulb, these are LED's so they are much brighter, also last a lot longer as well.

installation is the same as an h8 bulb, the only difference is an extra added inverter
