Car drives amazing with the M3 suspension and subframe. Really worth the hassle.

Diffuser came out alright. It will for sure push me to get the rear body work conversion done sooner rather than later.

Also Lightweight Lip and 1M mirrors are in the mail.
Looks Amazing! Makes me want to do the m3 rear swap

You are still on the stock diff and drive shaft?
Yea still stock for now.

Carbon driveshaft and M3 DCT diff is likely the next thing I do. Once I do that I can work on retrofitting the M3 DCT GTS software and DCT shifter hardware.

Driveshaft Shop offers custom carbon fiber driveshafts. So I will likely go with them. They already make one for the E92 M3, so should be have no problem ordering one thats slightly shorter for the E82.

Been a while since I've had the car out. Once the new paint arrives it'll be time to strip it down and paint again. Going to be repainting the front bumper, front fenders and the rieger piece.

The rieger piece is getting painted Dark Graphite Metallic. Something a little more darker than this carbon pattern which looks almost silver next to BSM.

Drooling over here bud, looks amazing. Can you share how you went about mounting the diffuser? My central mounting point is really not ideal and is pinched up too far. Considering getting a longer screw so I can connect it but leave it lower for a more uniform look underneath. Not sure if this conveys what I'm talking about, in the right 3rd quarter of the diffuser it's tucked up too high:

Thanks man.

With the diffuser I installed it by putting the tabs in like you would the stock diffuser and only connecting the sides that required the drilling. I didn't have anything down bottom to connect it to.

I think that answers the question. If not I'll take pictures when I pull it off this weekend.

Yup makes sense, I guess I'll just disconnect it in that section and see how it looks. I can't imagine that it would make it less safe that way.

Yea it felt about as secure as the stock and performance one I had. I think rieger just went over board securing it for the TUV rating.

I was scared of working on my first 135i when I bought it... Now everything that comes up I just dive into lol. They seem daunting at first but once you know the ins and outs if you just take your time and do it right everything falls into place.

Update on painting. Came out well with no issues. Once the paint has cured and the car is back together it'll get a light wet sanding, compound and polish.

You can see the initial clear coat damage really well after sanding before the primer went down. Luckily it all sanded out and/or filled in from the primer.

Side note; the primer I used looked really nice when it was wet from cleaning. Reminded me of Hockenheim Silver. Might have to consider that color in the future.

Rieger quad was definitely the way to go. I missed which front lip that is though.

Appreciate it. This is the one I've been trying to remember the name of. Did you order from a US vendor, or import?

Had to order directly from Lightweight in Germany. The few vendors that sell lightweight lips in the US didn't offer the 1M lip.

Laying out in the sun today. Color on the diffuser turned out great. Can't wait to put the car back together. Possibly tonight.

Well the base and primer I sprayed with my air gun since it was cheaper to buy the paint and primer by the pint instead of aerosol cans. The clear is however Max 2k Aerosol. Simply because it was easier than trying to mix and get the clear coat mixture right for me.
