whats the name of the rims on a Sports pkg?

I am gonna buy a non sports 330 for $35k and hate the present rims. I like the ones that come on an e90 though.

what are they called and does anyone know where I can buy one for less than what the dealers charge?

They are type 162s...you can try bmwwheels.com. Also every now and then, some posters advertise their 162s for sale. You can also sell your 159s to offset costs.

Yep the standard wheels on the 330i (non zsp) are 159s...they are rather nice, though...I am sure you'll find some interest if you were to put them up for sale....good luck

Hmmm I've seen posters advertise for 800-900 bucks for wheels/tires set. Also, check out bmwwheels.com...I'd give them a call and see if they want to take in your 159s for credit back on your order of 162s from them...it's been done before. Not sure how much they'll give you.

Whatbout aftermarket rims? 19" CSL reps start at about $1,500 for complete set (wheelmax.com) or 19" ASA AR-1s can be had for about 2k from tire rack...these are popular choices here...

Have you searched the marketplace forum? Lots of useful ideas in there, about the wheels you mentioned AND the 162's and many others
also do a search on rep wheels, mine are 19's and priced well, compared to what people are wanting for the 162's. Good luck

if you are soon to be e90, then yo should reorder the car with them on it. sports package comes with the rims, seats, 1/2 lowered, steering wheel and for only 2k. you are going to end up paying about 1500 for a used set. another 500 you can get new 162 and seats. the seats are worth the money. if you are buying the 162 it can put yo over 2k. but then yo dont have the other stuff..

I am buying preowned for $8k less.

the sports seats are actually a negative for me. I have a 48inch upper body and a 36inch waist so I dont quite fit comfortably in the seats.

Tenchi, was just looking at 162 reps in 17" size...the tires on your 159s would go right on it, so you can enjoy A/S and extra sidewall protection benefits (I see youre in Boston, you might need it)...If you sell your 159s (wheels only), they'd make up the cost of these 162 reps...

This is from the other active thread: http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com...bmw-3-17.shtml

Getagrip: Do you have any experience with their products? How is the quality/strenght/durability/finish/customer service?? Thanks... I am interested...I think this is the wheel I am looking for (working with A/S and RFTs and cost considerations).

Well, I have not bought any "rep" wheels, but I did bet my MAS Italy wheels from them (see my sig) back when the Lakeshore was called AAA Rim. Their service seemed reputable.

This sounds like the most logical plan. You should do this TENCHI.
