approximate horsepower.... help?

Hey all, I just recently purchased a 2011 135 m-sport with the following mods (according to the previous owner)

Cobb Ap running stage 2+
Afe Exhaust
Afe Intake
Afe downpipe
Evolution racwerks charge pipe
7" vrsf fmic
oil cooler

My question is, what is the approximate horsepower with these mods? The previous owner said around 430whp but I have a hard time believing that. I came from a c6 z06 with just about 30 more whp and it felt significantly faster.

Thanks for any information you can provide

Hard to say but I can definitely tell you it's not 430whp unless the previous owner upgraded the turbo and failed to tell you about it. Of course there are gonna be a lot of variables, but if I had to guess based on your mods, maybe 340-350

With dyno/road tuning you should be getting 400-420whp depending on the environment with an n54. I think the Cobb AP 2+ is a pretty conservative tune as well something like 380hp.

I think you are closer to the high 300s. 380-390s would be my bet if you dyno it. Not sure how much the intercooler would add but I would be impressed if that is over 400whp.

Yeah, it feels like upper 370-380whp.. thanks for the info guys. I'm still under factory warranty. Any other mods I can do that won't affect the warranty? I've got coilovers on order as well as VMR V810's. What else? Sway bars? m3 bushings?

How realistic is a LSD swap?

I wouldn't attempt a LSD swap unless you're really familiar with cars and are just replacing the entire pumpkin. If you're a pro mechanic with differential experience and have the right tools then maybe you could do the whole thing yourself. I've been on the fence about doing the pumpkin swap myself (since it's similar work that I've done before) or just letting a shop do everything all at once.

I agree with this. if you look a few threads down from yours, http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1059508, you can get an idea of what similar mods made to the wheels on both unleaded and ethanol blends running either a jb4 or etune. there is a nice bump from the cobb OTS map and the etune, so I would guess you are a little below 340whp.

also, congrats on your purchase!

2011 wouldn't that make this an n55? If so 430whp may be unrealistic especially without e85 or 100 octane

Yes. Realistically probably 340-360ish whp with those mods.

I have 2011 m-sport (Mods in signature) and I'm sitting on 345 HP and 374 TQ when dyno'd last summer. I do need walnut blasted pretty bad but other than that you're about right where I am mod-wise.

With a turbo upgrade and some E85 you'll be right there with the Z06.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but the 135iM has the M3 suspension parts which includes the giant calipers, frame, and some of the performance items so you may not need those immediately.

The dealer by me is pretty open to mods. As long as you don't do something that causes damage, you are usually fine. For example you twice the boost on a stock engine from your map and blow it, you may find yourself in trouble but if you put in an intake and your transmission blows, they would need to prove that your mod caused the issue, at least here in NY that is the case.

You are wrong. The Non-M E82 135i shares quite a few parts with the Non-M E92 335i. M components are upgrades over our stock hardware.

We also do not have the M brakes, calipers, bushings, or, really anything.

Yes you should be making more power
( then again depends on which map you running)

I think you mean the 1M, not the 135M (not a thing). 1M uses the N54 (2008-2009 135), not the op's N55 (2010-2013). Also shares the same frame as a standard 135i. You're right about the suspension setup being from the M3 though! I believe in innards of the 1M diff are from the e46 M3 as well (weird I know, but apparently the case). Cheers!

Don't want to hijack either, but I'll take advantage of the title

I have these mods:

- N55 midpipes
- BMS DCI
- FMIC
- BMS Cowl Filters
- JB4
- Meth
- Air Scoops
- M-Sport Suspension
- BMW Performance Exhaust

Previous owner got me a receipt of the dyno showing 428 whp

This car is relatively new, and previous owner moved to foreign country, so I have no way of contacting.

Could I be missing something here?
