Best Sway Bar for a Vert
Finally convinced my dad (and co-owner of the 1) that taking body rool out of the car is a good idea. I know the rear suspension is different between the coupe and the vert. But are the fronts the same. If not can someone give me the name of a good sway bar for the vert?

the stock sway bars on the coupe and convertible are the same. So any aftermarket sway will be the same for both coupe and convertible.
I have the UUC swaybars on my 135i convertible (that still has stock springs and shocks). I have them on full stiff. So far so good. There was some worry that I might start lifting a rear tire and therefore lose traction (due to the open diff). After an autox I can report that no lift has occurred in the front or rear. I initially only did the front (on full soft) and I had spotters report that I was lifting the front wheel in the corners. So I put the rear bar on and it seems that all 4 tires have remained fully planted. |

Ok. Thats good news. nordique, did you auto-x before you went with new sways? I ran fully stock the other day and i'm interested in how much of a difference they make in auto-x.

I autoxed for about 5-6 events last year with the stock sways. I started this season (about 5-6 events) with the front bar only. I only have 1 event with the rear bar. I need to see how it works on a variety of courses before I render a verdict but the initial feedback is good. Car feels more balanced. Springs are still way too soft though and the car could really use some more camber.
