I haven't had any time to finish the rear suspension carrier, too much life in the way to do anything serious in the garage, but that hasn't stopped me from stacking parts. My latest acquisition and last major component of my suspension overhaul is an E90/2 M3-1M Coupe FSB P/N 31352283515 to replace my current E93 M3 FSB P/N 31352283965; just a bit softer. It will be paired with the 1M specific RSB P/N 33557845522 I bought a while back.

I also thought I'd post pictures of the rest of the components, like the custom Ohlins R&T dampers, since I forgot to put most of them here on my build thread.

With the Ohlins dampers I got 60 N/mm F 120 N/mm R Swift springs, Vorshlag camber plates, Swift thrust sheets all around, and AKG upper shock mounts. 3DM put everything together as a hybrid kit to match my non-///M front struts and ///M rear camber arms. The whole kit had to be assembled from spares by 3DM. Rear spring perches are Ohlins and the new bushings and bearings are from Millway, except for the trailing arm bearings. I went with stock ///M toe arms because they're already full spherical and I like the way they look. The rear wishbones and guide rods are from Turner/SPL (blue! I like blue!) and the M3 rear suspension carrier sits unfinished in the garage. The front tension arms are (polished) stock arms with the Millway bearings and I'll likely replace my ~60k-mile front TRW-///M wishbones with genuine, new ///M 31102283577/8 wishbones. I'm not likely to put the TRWs on again only because I don't want the scar where they grind off the ///M logo. The front bearing carriers are just gussied up a bit and the rear suspension carrier, when I can get back to it, will be painted to match.

Just two quick questions, since i've seen you did the 130i rear hub conversion.
I got a complete E90 330i 2009 Auto EURO (i live in spain) rear subframe, with the 3.73 diff, drive shafts, hubs and carriers.
I was wondering if they're the same narrow hubs and carriers used on 130i's and if they will fit the 335i brake conversion, also if the drive shafts are beefier as you stated previously

Also did you have to do any modification to the front carriers to fit those beautifull VS-5RS 18x8.5 ET40 on the front? Apart from the front M3 control arms.

Also was wondering how did you fit the M3 rear toe arms, since they're different length as the standard non M toe arms
Did you change the subframe to a M3 one?

Great build man!

The hubs should fit the 335i brakes, they will if they are the large handbrake knuckles. A 330i should not come with a 3.73 final drive though, the auto had a 3.64.

The E90 and E91 LCI (late 2008 and on) had an increased track width (I think 8mm per side) over the pre-LCI E90/E91 and the E92/E93. This extra track width is in the knuckle and the wheel hub itself so the brakes and axles remain common parts on those 3 series. If you swap to this setup on an E82/E88 you won’t gain much arch clearance, but you can get the 335i brakes easily.

The main benefit of the large handbrake axles is the wheel speed sensors are magnetic rather than a ring that can corrode on the axles. Corroded reluctor rings likely aren’t much of a problem in Spain though.

I imported the car from germany, so it's pretty rusty underneath, i wish it was a from spain hahaha

My biggest concern with this knucle swap is the wheel speed sensors as you mentioned
I have both sensors, the ones from the e90 and the e82 stock ones.
I was thinking on installing the sensors from the e82, so i don't face problems with ABS module and/or DTC
Do you think the e90 wheel speed sensors should work without coding?

This is a build thread, and this isn't at all related to it. You should consider starting your own thread for questions about your car, or find another thread with related subject matter. FYI.

Yes, I have put 135i knuckles on a 125i, I used the 135i wheel speed sensors. The sensor technology wants to match the axle it is reading. The DSC was confused after the swap but the errors went away within a mile or 2 without coding.

Apologies Suprgnat!

Sorry, new here, as I saw that he did the 130i rear knucle conversion in the past, asked the question without thinking it would be a big deal

Sorry Again

The rear wheel speed sensors for the 135i, the 335i, or basically any E8X/E9X with 33326774807 & -08 rear wheel carriers, are the same.

Current version 34526870077 "Pulse generator, DSC rear".

For fun, I got the parts for the genuine E82 Mobility System.

I have no idea how the "Hook & loop fastener" and the "Plug, black" are actually applied, so I winged it.

71106792697 "Tire inflating bottle"
71106792688 "Compressor Mobility System"
71106792863 "Storage tray, Mobility System"
71106792834 "Hook & loop fastener"
52208133466 "Plug, black"

I haven't had an opportunity to paint the rear suspension carrier. The weather went from too hot, to rain, to too cold in the span of weeks. I may have a window next weekend.

In the meantime, I got these back from the powder coater. Color is "Anodized Aluminum".

Picked up a BMW jack kit off of Facebook Marketplace for $50. Bag needed a good wash as the kits "tire chalk", which is actually a white grease pencil, was smooshed all over the inside of the bag and the outside was covered in dirt. The tools are in like-new condition and the only things missing were the gloves.

Finally got around to painting the E8/9X ///M rear suspension carrier. Couple of runs, but it's single stage 2K paint so easy enough to fix. Ford Wimbledon White, will go well with my Oyster Boston Leather interior.

New Techna-Fit brake lines. The old, clear ones are, well, old and yellowing.

The fronts I bought off of forum member Bullitt, the rears I got from KFE Brake Systems, an official distributer for Techna-Fit. Ordered on 14 March, a Saturday, received an order verification Monday the 16th, USPS has them on the 17th, and delivered 21 March.

Made to order.

Techna-Fit still use the correct, anti-rotation female fittings as well.
