Not that I know of. I have to see if the Western Highway is one you can track across the ocean though....the only reason I know I am on the boat is bc my SA told me so.
The 800# and OC both say I am still awaiting a shipping vessel. But they are always behind....

I actually misspoke--my car was done on the 11th-been at the port since the 15th. Probably explains why mine is finally on its way.....

Amusing conversation with my advisor today, who called me this morning...
CA: "Good morning! I just wanted to tell you that your BMW has been built." Me: "Umm, yes I know. It was completed last Tuesday, shipped to Bremerhaven by Thursday and is now code 193. I'm hoping it makes it onto one of three ships leaving this week." CA: "Wow, uh, yes. You seem to know more about this than I do. Do you want the VIN number?" Me: "Already have it, but thanks. I'm a little obsessive about details." CA: "Well great. The boat trip will take 31 days to get to California." Me: "Actually, according to the schedule it'll take.... never mind. Sounds great, looking forward to getting the car. Thanks for calling!" :iono: Alright, back to waiting, waiting... |

If you are on the east coast are we shipping to Charleston? I was looking at the shipping schedule and it seems nothing is going into NJ. But one ship into SC is leaving today and on the 23rd. I better get on one of them. Its just sitting there waiting to leave!!

Does the 1-800 number update when you are on a ship?
I way over anxious here.... its borderline psychotic. I just traded in my porsche and have been driving a crappy jeep around in all this nice weather thinking of how I have a convertible that is just sitting collecting dust at some port in germany. |

Damn.... I have been on "released to the carrier and awaiting transport to the port of exit" for the last 3 days!! How much time does it take to transport a friggin car to the port?? Why couldn't they build the factory closer to the port?!?!
nOOb question: How do I find out the three digit status code of my car? I didn't see it on OC and never heard it on the 800#. |

It took me about 3-4 days from the day I knew my car was completed (via SA) to knowing my car was at the dock (again via SA). Now, if you call in and actually talk to a human on the 800 #, sometimes they can give you a little more info on the status of your vehicle. For example, my car was finished late on 4/10, and I happened to call in that night and talk to someone, who was able to tell me I had finished production. The automated portion of the 800# wasn't updated until the next day, if that makes sense. I always try to have fun with this process, but I get a little crazier each time (this is the 3rd Bimmer I have ordered).....

I know the status they give me is delayed, so hopefully, my car is already at the port waiting for the ship to bring her home. Thanks for the info. |

I'd rather hear someone say its at the port when its en route, than be told that its arriving in 3 weeks, while the car is still collecting dust at the port. There is nothing worse than false hope.. |
