I wonder if the girl in the above link had nightmares about this bear. lol

Reminds me of a cheesy movie I saw back in the 80s called "Dolls." There is a scene where this giant teddy bear attacks a little girl's father.

Go to 1:11 if you want to see the teddy bear and skip the trailer.

Also, a bit of trivia: the girl from the a-ha - "Take On Me" music video is in the movie "Dolls." She's in the trailer above.

I know, nothing to do with our cars. There is a pic of my car in my sig, if that counts. If you're on your mobile device, you no can see...

Since my exhaust is loud I never thought much of it, but now it makes sense lol.

I also got the 2AAC code a few times, prompting me to check.

You can see how lethargic the small DISA is compared to the large one. Imagine you're ripping thru the RPMs, the DME tells the DISA to open and that happens - barely anything.
Got it, thanks. Sounds like different behavior to mine and I haven't gotten any DISA codes.

Are you rebuilding yours again?

Can't the rebuilds are only for the flap breaking. If the motor itself is shot then you just need a new DISA

Arrived in Frankfurt to meet a client, set the cruise control to 130kph and just cruised here all the way.

After filling up the tank with 102 fuel, the OBC indicated a massive 790 kms range at that speed. It stayed there for a few minutes, i covered 450+kms including some uphills, downhills and traffic with 8.4l/100kms average consumption at 130kph.

That is with the new tune as well, i took a quick photo when it read 750-ish range will try to upload it. That is insane economy for a NA 3L 6 cylinder engine if you ask me.

Got the pic 760+kms with 8.5l/100kms consumption and it kept rising:

Installed a wind deflector in the e88. I love riding around with the top down, but the wife isn't as big of a fan since it blows her hair so bad. Since mine is pretty much buzzed, doesn't bother me, but needed a solution. Ordered this from ebay...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/WIND-DEFLEC...habtIQ&vxp=mtr

Gotta say, it's a pretty nice setup and does a great job of deflecting the wind. It was the cheapest thing I could find on ebay and I'm impressed with how it's made. Has spring loaded pins that just pop into the side holes. Came from the Netherlands and only took 5 days to get here. No additional wind noise with this in the up position.

Looks like a great idea.
Where do the kids go?

Will it fit easily into the trunk (along with a daypack or two) if I need to transport rear seat passengers?

I have it as well. It folds up very easily and fits in the trunk. It's relatively small when folded up.

EDIT: JK. I have the BMW one. I can't speak for this ebay version.

Finally got some alcantara trim from Redline Goods installed. It's not perfect, but I am really happy with how it turned out. The pic actually don't do it a lot of justice - the interior really feels a lot more up-scale with the new trim in there. Now I just need to finish vinyl wrapping and install the front console trim!

Matticus91, is that your car up front in the top pic? You wrapped your hood. Looks good!

It is, and he did. His car looks, sounds, and smells gnarly.

I've heard that E85 smells like corn, but I never believed it. It does literally smell like burning popcorn. Who knew?

booOOOOOOSSSSTTTT weather is starting! Even in FL, at least up in north fl, was mid 60's on the way to work Friday and my baby was soooo happy

I've been running the S3 ots map from xhp for a few days now- wow, what an improvement over s2! Across the board better. Frankly, if I was to do it over again I would just skip all the "I don't need it...." bull pucky and just go straight to the stage 3. It's that much better.

Now to start prepping for the next stage two rolling through Tally- Hurricane Michael...

erm... yay I guess??.....

It is a Doug Whalen Shift Machine from a R53 Mini Cooper S that I had a while back. It fits perfectly except that I had to file a few little notches on the shift lever for the ball bearings inside the knob shaft to catch on (it has kind of a quick release feature so you can pull the knob off easily). The knob is also angled slightly towards the driver on the BMW, compared to how it sits on the Mini.

Overall, it is by far my favorite shift knob - although being solid stainless steel it does get a little warm sitting out in the sun, and a little cold in freezing weather. I really like feel of round shift knobs, and this one is the perfect diameter for me. I have tried several others, but they all feel too big around.
