BAD coolant leak, SULEV covered?
Late last night I was on a rural road with no traffic doing freeway speeds and I hit a massive bump in the road. The car bottomed out and I was sure I saw sparks fly up behind the car in my mirror. This wasn't a small bump, this was Fast and Furious over the train tracks type stuff. I had never taken this road before, but apparently it is notorious.
Lesson learned, know the road before you stretch the car's legs. After hitting it, I pulled into my buddy's place where he thankfully happened to be working on his mustang and was eager to help. We jacked the car up. Other than a slight exhaust leak, no major damage we could see. Exhaust leak we attributed to the headers I put on less than a week ago and the new muffler must have made contact with ground. Also found that the jack points just in front of the rear tires on both sides were noticeably melted and scarred, and mudflap on the driver side was barely hangin on. Still, no biggie. This morning leave for work, start car up. Yellow coolant light on. *shit* I pulled car onto driveway to check for puddle. Welp... (see pics). Pulled back into garage and parked it. I'm assuming I busted the radiator, but just enough so that when coolant circulating in motor it won't leak, but when car shut off it sat and leaked. My question is will the SULEV warranty cover a new radiator if it is leaking, despite "outside factor" circumstances? I saw on the list of parts covered under SULEV and radiator was on there. If not, can I fit the regular N52 radiator onto an N51? My understanding is the N51 radiator had some kind of Prem air coating on it. Is that the sole difference? Will the lack of EAC sensor in the non-SULEV radiator trigger a CEL? Dealer wants to charge 1 hr labor for diagnostic if it is not covered under SULEV. If it is, they waive all fees. Unsure if I should risk it. Thanks for your attention, sorry about the writeup. Please feel free to share past experiences. I plan on DIY or indy if not covered. Yes, I know, save the speed for the autobahn. After work-dinner urge for speed got best of me. (Apologize for blurry pics, was in a rush to get to work and shot on phone.)

Yes, an N52 (non-PremAir) radiator will trigger a CEL in an N51.

Update: Forgot to update my bad, went with CSF all aluminum, CEL was there but it was there anyway cuz of headers. Worked great, temps cool, perfect fit, and fans never came on until i hit a/c. Car was totaled last year. RIP
