That's an awesome deal. Had I not gotten such a great deal on my 135i and had waited a couple of months, I'd probably be buying another STi with deals like this. Consider I sold my 08 STi (BBS) w/ 6000m on it 2 months ago for $32,500 (included snow wheels/accessport.) You scored a great deal. You'll enjoy it particularly if you didn't have an earlier STi. Get rallyarmor mud flaps on it immediately and then sways asap.

Getting the UR flaps soon with snow coming, although Cobb is taking 10% off the AP for the next week so I’m jonesing for that. I’ll probably go with a CBE to deepen the sound of the boxer engine (best sounding 4 cylinder I’ve every heard) and go to sways, endlinks and probably springs. After that a downpipe, intake and a custom tune and I’ll be done besides cosmetic stuff. I haven’t pushed it too much yet but it’s not nearly as neutral as my RX8 was so sways are a must although grip in the wet is so much better than my RX8 was. Now if I only had an extra $3-4k to buy everything I want now

I’ve always wanted a Z4 so if I can keep myself from buying anything new for the next 4-5 years I’ll be picking up a z4 sdrive35 (hate these new designations) or an M roadster especially if they put the M3’s engine in it. Modified STI as a DD and a Z4M as a fun car sounds just about right (a Dinan tuned 135i convertible might work well too).

Avoid springs at this point, they will not help the car in any way. If you have to drop it go for a good set of full coilovers.

Sways and endlinks are a must though. Since your getting a custom tune, I guess the intake would be ok but I still still suggest not getting an intake. It is just not one of those mods that is needed on the STI and can sometimes hurt the car.

Well if it's not needed then I'll skip it, don't want to spend money if it's not going to help alot.

Yup, thats not to say that you can't have one. If you do get one a custom tune is a MUST!

The standard intake system in the Subaru is good for at least 400whp

Well got the stage 1, what a difference, this is how it should be tuned from the factory. It doesn’t have the punch as early as a 135 but at least it’s not at 4k anymore.

Following your guys advice I did some research and I’m skipping a CAI. I don’t expect I’ll get to the point I’d need it. Actually the stage one is probably all I need, I’ll have to test a 135 again to see how it compares, the memory butt dyno says the STI but I’m betting a Vishnu 135 would put the 135 back on top.

It’s been a month though and I have not felt compelled to take one picture of the car and I’ve only washed it once (of course it been cold). If I do hang on to the car I’m going to need something really pretty, even if it’s slower as a second car. I remember washing my RX8 weekly when it was new and obsessing over every bit of dirt in the car, maybe this is a good thing since I have little kids.

Good things I don't have summer tires on my BMW, oh wait, I do.

I had over 25000 miles on my STi before I sold it, never changed the brake pads.

Not to mention pads are cover under the warranty for the first 36k miles.
