It is a good decision, if you read the thread posted above, he got his fixed with the exact same problems as what we are having. I'm just glad this happened now instead of later I'm going to hand them all of this documentation and say "this is what has happened to my car and multiple other cars, and these are the solutions to the problem." I'd rather be educated and have the right solution then go in there and look like an ignorant dummy and believe it when they say "its your tint"

Its totally a good decision. After getting it, I would never order a BMW without it. This issue is a nuisance issue at best, that will get resolved.

Nice, I'm still glad I went with it. Just hoping that it works as advertised.

It sould suck to be cleaning your car, spray some window cleaner on teh inside, get a little carried away and kill you CA. I wonder if they had a bad batch of sensors. It would certainly not be the first time somethign was supposed to be waterproof but ended up not being so due to a defect.

The only thing that is really concering is that CA is not exactly new or anythign, other carmakers and BMW have been doing it for several years now.

That's an interesting observation, and I hadn't thought about it. Do you know how they're "faking out" doors to think they're closed? I would imagine they just defeat the switch, but maybe they're having to do something more creative that's causing a prodblem?

Btw, I raised the BS flag and told them I would be calling bmw na to get the issue resolved....although, I do have 15 on the front and 10 on the back with metallic. If I take all my keys out of my pocket and leave just the fob, it works almost everytime >.>

Took out the keyless entry fuses (61 or so through 7* something) and it works alot better. The only thing that is still slightly off is the trunk.

let's do a poll

still trying to decide whether I should risk my CA by tinting this Sunday. Can we have a quick poll please? How many of you have CA issues? (See link)

CA door trickery. What they did on mine is flip the latch on the door catch to the closed position. This brought the window up all the way so that they could tint.

I don't know what the deal is. If I had to guess, it would be a bad batch of sensors that were not sealed properly and during the tinting process it got wet.

One other thing. Do any of you with CA problems have lojack? The dealer questioned my lojack install. WTF, I bought it thru them! They were cool about it all in the end. They just couldn't figure it out.

Dang, I'm picking up my 135i convertible in June with CA. I wasn't planning on window tinting at all. Is anyone here having these problems without the tint?

I'm picking it up at the Performance Center, I'll make sure this is something I talk with them about during the vehicle overview.

Based on the poll I did, looks like tinting does have the potential to impact the CA amplifier/sensor.

Arggh... spoke with my CA about this...he said he hasn't heard of these issues but that I still have a couple more days before my options are set in stone. Not sure if I should change it back or not (I originally had heated seats and changed it to comfort access).

Before you change your order, it is possible that whatever the problem is/was will be corrected on your build.

128i convertible with CA and no tinting and no problems (other than remembering to apply sunscreen).

Guys, don't change your order for CA. It's an awesome feature! But if you are considering tinting, just beware of the risks, real or not.

Question: let's say your CA dies completely. Does your fob still work like the normal fob, with buttons for everything? Except that it won't recharge the batteries of course.
