'11 HD Radio
Picked up a my new 128 about two weeks ago, but have been more than disappointed with the HD radio...cool concept, though. To actually have it lock into one station with out skipping like a 90's CD player is proving to be a harder challenge than expected. Anybody else have this issue? I live just outside of D.C. so actual reception shouldn't be a problem but alas.....

Not sure what you mean. I have no problem with the HD radio in my 11. I live in the same area. Once you program a station to the 1-6 buttons you can then use the iDrive to scroll through the various stations of that channel if that makes sense.

If by skipping you mean it echoes as it transitions between the HD(digital) and analog then yes, I get that too, and it is annoying. I live in a valley and don't always get the best reception.

That's a well-known problem with HD radio. I think it was a last-gasp concept to try to save radio from the onslaught of satellite (which hasn't been financially successful) and MP3s. From what I've read, the concept was not ready for prime time.
Hey, Cy3 and jsublime - where are you guys located? I'm in Ballston/N. Arlington. |
